I bought the same machine. I made my decision after watching your video & TTWT. He used the 9900 on his 1025. I went with the 8600 after watching your video & seeing it in action. I have a John Deere 1023E & TTWT had a hard time lifting the 9900 off the ground when Transporting it. It went against all my manliness buying the smaller wood chipper (the 8600). But, it was the best decision I made. This 8600 is an absolute Beast! Thanks for showing this video. I haven't had to open mine up that deep yet. At least now I'll have a better understanding of the inner workings when I do. So far, I haven't found anything that I wish they had of engineered differently. Everything is easily accessible & built like a Tank. Thanks for the first video I saw leading me to the purchase of the 8600 vs the 9900. As well as this most recent video when it comes time for me to break mine open to do some maintenance. Very informative.

Hi Brad, just watched your video. Great machine. I bought the WOODMAX 9900 and I will be flipping the blades and turning the bed knife soon. I use mine for chipping tree tops and chipping slab wood from my mill. Made in USA

Like another poster said, a dry lube would probably be preferred. But, if you want a really good spray lube that actually lubricates, try Rust Patrol. It's pricey, but man oh man does it ever lubricate well! I was having a really tough time getting the handles on my SSQA to rotate. One shot of Rust Patrol (the general purpose lube kind - they make several types) and just the idle vibration from the tractor is now enough to make the handles move when there is no attachment on. WAY better than WD-40. Take care and God Bless.

How are you liking the summit? Is it worth buying?
@PineyGroveHomestead5 күн бұрын
Summit is made by ITL...same as Solis. We've had no issues with almost 200 hours on it so far. More Summit videos here: kzbin.info/aero/PLG5yS75HLzo1hT372soffAIIzQsiJSNDh

@PineyGroveHomestead i am really close to pulling the trigger on one with the backhoe. I just haven't seen a whole lot of sponsorship this last year and their "coming soon" page is outdated since spring and I haven't been able to register on the app for weeks now. Wasn't sure if the company is doing well? All of the videos I've seen seems like a solid tractor along with Solis as a brand. Other tractor i was looking at is Bobcat 2025, its a little wider than I'm looking for and lighter than i want with summit coming with ballast. Summit also had a little better hydraulic flow rate. Kind of settled on summit, just looking for reassurance that it's a solid company and any other information I can get before next week or shortly after the new year when I pull the trigger.

I probably would have rewelded the chute, and straighted the handle.😊

Use a dri-lube instead of WD-40. It will last longer as a lube and will not become contaminated with wood fibers.

Maybe you could put a piece of duct tape over the head of the Allen head bolt to keep the junk out of it??

It wasn't that hard to clean out with the tip of a knife. I put the knife tip in then spun the bolt with the impact wrench!
