The Best & Worst of Splatoon 2

I played this game for about 150 hours, and maybe 2 of them were in the single player. Sad to hear you had trouble finding games, but it's to be expected with 3 being out for years now

I enjoyed Splatoon for what it is at first but honestly...I am so burned out on live service games like this. I just don't have the time or energy to keep up with the constant updates. I had the most fun with Splatoon during its early days when it was brand new. Strategies weren't solidified, equipment sets were unbalanced and the concept was completely new and refreshing. But as time went on, the playerbase just kept getting better and better and it's like, now you HAVE to memorize weapon kit stats, hitboxes, study stages to find the optimal places to attack the rival team in depending on your "main" it's just....it's too much. It's too much of a commitment and time sink to get the most out of it. I feel very old typing this comment but I think I just need to realize that this series is not for me anymore. It doesn't fit my play style, my gaming habits and the community around it is so young that I feel like the odd one out. I tried my best to get into Splatoon 3, but it just didn't click with me the third time around and I think that's enough for me. I don't feel the need to buy the inevitable Splatoon 4. My time is better spent elsewhere.

So despite the big celebrating event that happent recently (I am told it was a huge concert), this game is still not dead and woth getting now? Im just now thinking of getting it.

Hahahahaha. Every. Single. Complaint. Aside from the story mode one, gets worse in 3. Musics generic, stages suck, and its super common to get lopsided comps.

@@TheBoredJord Honestly, I think he's partially exaggerating. Music depends on the person (I personally think the music in 3 is quite good), Story Mode's alright and has a twist at the end (given context by a REALLY challenging stage that rewards you with important lore about the villain) that many find polarizing, and... well, he's not wrong about the matchmaking (I think that's what he meant by comps), but I thought that was somewhat common accross Splatoon. All in all, I think it's a great game, though not one without a bunch of flaws. Hope you enjoy it yourself.
