Looks great until somebody jumps out of the woods in the middle of the night and chops your noggin off. I just can’t get over the feeling that I’m swinging there at waist level like some big sacrificial lamb when I sleep out in the boonies in the middle of the night.🤷🏻‍♂️

It is a fabulous system and for the price you pay it is an absolute no brainer! By the way it was your recommendation on this system that prompted me to take the plunge. I will not lie, it is possibly the best bushcraft and/or hiking purchase I've made for many years. It has now been tried and tested and it fills me with confidence that no matter the temp outside I will be nice and toasty.

In every place I've tried them in the UK, the old DPM seems to out perform multicam as a pattern disruption. MC doesn't seem to camouflage very well anywhere I've tried it.

Was just thinking that looks like a good bit of kit. Then I thought wait a minute I’ve got a reasonably roomy DD jura2 xl and a much less roomy Snugpak jungle bag 🤔 Then I thought what the heck I’ve still got my arctic bag in the shed. Never gonna need anything warmer than that for a Scottish winter. Wow! that was a lot of thinking for me! 😅

Best "Year Round " seams relevant to a persons location. Probably a good set up in the UK but here in Florida it would be useless. With summer temperatures in the 90's ( matching humidity numbers )and heat indexes in the triple figures ( feels like 110 today ). Here in the summer a simple sheet is normally more then needed ( in a hammock ) and then only in the early morning hours. The winter a simple 40 degree quilt works really well , when there is any cooler weather. Our winters are more like everyone else's Fall temperatures for the most part , 40 and 50 but not for long or a lot. You are lucky with some actually winter weather to enjoy and look forward to each year.

Running the hammock through was next level genius. I have the American version of that system and now I have to work that out. I have added an old army wool blanket and a mylar rescue blanket over and another one under. The temps here can get super brutal. 60 mile per hour wind and minus 40 temps. If your not ready for it, the only place any one will see you again is on the back of a milk carton.

The issue with cocoons is that you can't achieve a diagonal lay in a hammock, which makes them basically worthless for actual use. I like the multifunction concept being applied so thoroughly though.

I have managed to sleep in hammocks without the need for a diagonal lay since the late 1990s, when I first started using them, I think its a personal preference. Also after a few days teaching in the woods I'm capable of sleeping anywhere!!!

I find hammocks wildly uncomfortable anyway, so a diagonal lay means nothing to me. But we can't say worthless. Hammocks are integral for getting off the ground in a hurry, such as in flood conditions.

Good video for getting unbiased information about British Army kit out their but I have to agree with "Martindale" the hammock adaptations will not make for a comfortable nights sleep in a hammock. But hell at least you are not afraid to try to adapt kit. Keep up the good work.
