This whole album is seriously a classic. The lyrics are so smart - "How can we rely on demand and supply, if you said goodbye would that be a lie" "Put poison in my wine and hope that you're the one who dies" - and these common terms keep appearing throughout the songs: "breath" "vapour" "cold" "condensation" - "in the cold the steam escapes my lips and dissipates, you breathe it in, we all breathe it in" "breathe aloud/I promise it won't freak me out" "when the cold sets in, a river will run" - it's just so emotional and deep and encompasses pretty much all the stages of romantic life. The whole thing starts out with her wishing she could escape from between "the ache and the apathy" and ends with her asking humanity to "leave me out of it" next time.

I've met her and she was just like this in person! To be honest the whole band is pretty "Kiwi" - ie pretty impassive - but they let their talent speak for them I think :-)

@@quasistellar @TheBrutalDeluxe I saw them in March and they sound just straight off the album - everything is perfectly tight, the backing vocals are sublime, and Jon's guitar tone just perfect for every lick and solo. And Liz's voice just has such a sweet quality even though she says that she's not primarily a singer. I recommend seeing them anytime you can.

Great, great band... they blew the roof off The Brighton Music Hall in Boston a couple of weeks ago. So tight, and they sounded so good in a such a small venue. Nice folks too... Jon stopped and chatted with us for a bit and it was nice to meet the rest of the band as well. I cannot stop playing this album... end to end.
