There’s a really cool fish called “indostumos paradoxus” you should make a scape for them.

Idk if you just do fish but if you want ideas. Something like a turtle enclosure, snails, hermit crab stuff like that would be sick in addition! Love your stuff man glad to see you back in action

Just found you and have been watching all your videos this morning. LOVE! I have never seen Pothos grow across a tank like that. You've inspired me to do that as well! Thank you!

You inspired me a lot to get a 6 gallon bookshelf and try house plants in it. I’m currently keeping scarlet Badis in it. It’s my favorite tank by far. Thank you!

Hell yeah!!! What plants are you rocking at the moment?

The addition of the pothos made the tank SO much better, even though it was already a stunning scape imo. Great video as always!

You can add more fish like neon tetras so it can have more bioload so you won't have to dose it with fertilizer every now and then. You have more than enough plants to compensate with an additional bioload. The good thing about this is you can achieve a balance where you won't have to do maintenance as often since the ecosystem itself will take of those things. 😊 Besides, additional swimmers can add more perspective to your tank. Loved your work brother. 👌

Thank you!!! Thinking about transferring this hard scape to a bigger tank and have a betta with tetras! We will see
@toutanglor Жыл бұрын
How many neon Tetras can you add in the tank with a betta ?
@sleeplessknight850 Жыл бұрын
@@toutanglor general rule is 1 inch of fish per gallon but you can always add more depending on how the ecosystem handles the load. I have maxed 10 neons in a 5 gallon tank before but the tank is heavily planted with a decent filtration and do maybe once a week 20% water changes until the plants have grown. After that I just observed the fishes behavior and do water changes as needed only. 😊

Glad to see another video from you! Awww, that's so awesome your gf brought you that pothos! It's looking really good. 60 days really blew up. I'm currently having trouble growing some echinodorus because the aqua soil became too dense with dirt dust clusters. I'm doing a big aeration so the roots have room to grow! Also, trying to do a dry start...I swear I'm the only one who doesn't have luck with Monte Carlo. It's there, but not carpeting haha. Another great video! The Peace Lily roots were chonky!
@WorldofWhasian Жыл бұрын
Thank you! I have never had good luck with monte Carlo in a low tech scape. People always say its super easy to grow and I just can't for the life of me 😂

I definitely thought it was blackwater until you pointed out that it isn't haha! Anyways it looks awesome. I definitely get the urge to sit there with a hot cup of tea maybe some cosy music and then just stare at this palidarium for hours.

Try floating a couple of small floating food feeders on the surface to allow streams of light to reach through the tank. It will make good feeding spots also.

This tank is so nice. Awesome job dude! You might be able to cover the waterfall with some moss to make the waterflow more predicable
@WorldofWhasian Жыл бұрын
Thanks man! Had java moss jammed in the water fall output for a moment, it worked pretty well. It's not shown very well on camera but the water fall is SUPER close to the edge of the glass

I have made this exact looking tank set up 2 years ago. No filter. Just overgrown plants. So lovely to see your version which is far better looking then mine of course. One thing I might suggest to your tank is maybe to create a dark side and a brights side. By removing lots of the frog bits from the right side and let the pothos run downwards from the left side outside the tank. Sort of like draping downwards.. like mine 😊

I like that idea! Maybe something for the next iteration of this tank!

Another great informative video Alex. Can I ask why the water is so dark? Can backlight be added to show more of what’s going on in the tank?
@WorldofWhasian Жыл бұрын
Thank you! Water is dark from tannins from wood and leaf litter as well as the shade from the floating frog bit! A back light does sound like a great idea. I think it would look awesome.

This tank is so similar to my bookshelf tank! Be mindful of the Pothos roots. They will eventually burrow into the substrate and if you then try to pull it it will make a horrible mess. Solution is to periodically trim the roots.
@WorldofWhasian Жыл бұрын
Thank you! word on the pothos roots! I learned that hard way a while back with a dirted walstad tank☠️

Do you think you can build a nice looking tank using only native fish hardscape and plants? Like finding them from a local river or lake.
@WorldofWhasian Жыл бұрын
I have always wanted to! Still trying my best to learn about my native fish near me. A lot of them hibernate or slow metabolism drastically during the winter and I would need to be able to replicate that in captivity some how in a captive environment.
