The Bettas4all Standard incl. gallery of over 40 Siamese Fighting Fish

At the "aqua EXPO 2013" in Dortmund/Germany the dutchman Joep van Esch explained the bettas4all standard to a wider audiance. He developed this standard in competition to the established standards of IBC (International Betta Competition) with the focus on better health and vitality.

I HAVE A BETA!!!!! I have 10 betas in all diffrent tanks around the house. One of my prized betas is my oldest beta, Abaloni. He is a silver glitter color. He has a half moon tail and a shimmer brighter than the moon! Another prized one i have is Neon. He is all black with NEON TURQUISE high lights on his tail, he is a double tail, half-moon male

well betta usually eat live or froze foods becuase their carnivores. so i will suggest to feed them bloodworms daphina or larva. if you feed it pellets make sure you five it two or three eaach day

I consider it a fairly short lifespan, anything less than 5 years. But I do suppose 3 to 5 isn't bad for small fish such as these. It's comparing them to small tetras that can live up to 10 years that I find bettas fairly short lived. Keeping a betta 5 years I would definitely put it in the long lived category. Mine usually die around 3 years of age, or before. In the 80s I found many bettas lips seemed to just start coming apart. I haven't saw that in recent years. Color strains have became unreal, new fin shapes, etc.. I like the halfmoons, I feel like they can swim slightly better with those shorter fins. I'm not a huge fan of crowntails.

The difference is that females have tiny little dots below their stomachs. They are mostly white and hard to see.

Hi mate I breed Siamese fighting fish crown tails well the males are what would I get if I put a crown tale with an half moon what would the baby Siamese be and I also want to know how do you sex half moons as they gave shorter tail do I look for the egg spot on the female and the bubble nest of the male as want to have a go at half moons as with my crown tail what are males the females are not crown tail they have a short tale so I need a bit of help what ph do you keep bettas at I try to keep mine at ph 6.7 to 8 Speak soon

Hi mate I am trying to breed fighters I have two crown tails males my females have very short tails I am not sure what breed the females are one of my crown Tail as built a nest he did that as soon as I got him home from the pet shop what kind of tail will it be if they have young and what water do they like in one of my books it says a ph 6.8 and DH of 10 what do I need to do to get my DH to ten my nitrates nitrites ammonia are spot on he is ready to breed the female as her egg spot but does not have her vertical stripes only the other two stripes that run side by side I can see how long will it be till I see the vertical stripes the female is in a jar that's stuck to the tank so the male can see her do have to wait for the female stripes to come so I can put in the main tank any help will do thanks

In case you don't know, it's very hard to breed them because they could have 50 to 100 children, and its bad to keep them in small tanks, so it's very costly to breed them
