Replying to my own comment? Yes. lol Two attempts at this method spaced a few days apart. No dice. My female is too aggressive and the male works too hard (not eating enough) to keep up with "improving" the nest for her "acceptance." I do not have to work as hard at breeding my puffers! Nothing is required usually but a tentative hobbyist.
@joshuarigsby2932 жыл бұрын
This method works! Thank you so much for putting this together. I watched this last week, set up my hatchery this weekend and added the bettas (used half of a 2L soda bottle to keep her separate). This is my first time breeding Bettas; I released her this morning and they have already spawned!!!!! 😍

Even if the Betta pairs don't breed that day you released the female, it's ok to leave the female with the male as long the male isn't to aggressive towards the female. It usually takes 2 to 3 days for them to spawn. Anyways cool video 👍

I like your video . I have a suggestion . . Try to condition your male and female betta's for 15days after spawning. For those youngster's/firstimer betta's 1 week condition will do. Btw feed them before the release.. it will help a lot to prevent the male eating the fry or eggs. . happy fish keeping 😊

Some Thai breeders feed female a little before they release her. I myself tried it and it seems to help. I also leave the pipe there until they are done. Somehow it keeps female safer. Feeding should not be done until fry swims in open water. Usually three days.

Get some small PCV pipe joins, L or T shaped, and put them in the tanks/Bins on the other side from the nest so when they breed and you're not there, the female has a place to hide and not get shredded/killed before you get to remove her.

Hi people 🙂👋. This is a great clip- it’s both well presented and produced. What I probably like best is the presenter’s charisma and honesty. As someone who has been breeding bettas in Australia for going on 8 years or so, , there’s a few things I would probably add for someone new to the hobby. Yes, breeding can be easy (not always unfortunately). But so is becoming a parent . Pretty much anyone can do it. The real challenges arise from birth onwards. So too with bettas. Keepingfishsimple seems to have gotten the first bit right, but I’m not sure he has completely gotten his head around the entire process. But I’m sure with experience and time he will become an even more successful and established breeder. I’m looking forward to seeing more of his clips in the future. Keep up the good work keepingfishsimple 🙂🙏👍!
