Tom Conway was the brother of George Sanders; both actors played The Falcon on the big screen. (There was another Tom Conway who changed his name to - what else - Tim to avoid confusion with the English actor.)

He was also disowned by George due to his alcoholism.

I always liked Betty Hutton, but it's hard to believe that shows like this were responsible for killing off radio.

General Foods [Post cereals], who originally sponsored this series on CBS in the 1959-'60 season, became dissatisfied with the dwindling number of listeners for radio programs- especially the ones they sponsored- in the 1953-'54 season, and ended their association with "FATHER KNOWS BEST", "THE ROY ROGERS SHOW" and "GUNSMOKE" at the end of 1953, preferring to funnel their money into television sponsorship {especially Roy's program}, keeping only a few daytime radio shows (including soap operas) and five minute series to sponsor. By the mid-1950's, other advertisers felt the same way about prime-time network radio, and abandoned their weekly series as well; Jack Benny and Bob Hope were among those who signed off on radio in 1955, because their sponsors ended their association with them. By 1959, there was news, sports, and some music on the networks at night, but most of the time was filled by local programming.
