However, many times since Jesus's life there have been human's who others believed to be God's messenger to his people about the end of times or the need for repentance, more probably then most of us know. But many among those were men just using religion for power. Once they got that power, they abused it, and the people suffered. Ecclesiastes 3:15 tells us "What is happening now has happened before, and what will happen in the future has happened before, because God makes the same things happen over and over again." It doesn't matter if this is *the* end times. The fact that Revelations 13:3 immediately comes to mind for so many people is a warning of *an* end time. What gets built can also get destroyed. I realized in 2012 that the Republican party was in trouble when they booed Ron Paul for citing the Golden Rule. I was legitimately shocked at the time. How can "the party of Christ" as some call it, hate Christ's own teachings? There are a lot of people that wear the title Christian in public but neglect its teachings and those people were the ones Jesus rebuked the most, the Pharisees. There are some that the Bible warns, will be in for a rude awakening on the last day if they do not change. And what excuse did they have? I think it's extremely unlikely that those passages were written for an audience thousands of years in the future, instead of the people who had it read to them in the time that it was written. The Greek spelling for "Neron Caesar" adds up to 666, but there are some manuscripts that give the number as 616 instead--which equals an alternate spelling of Nero's name as "Nero Caesar." But still: the passages about "antichrist" (whether interpreted as referring to a particular person, or a set of general characteristics as in "the spirit of antichrist") offer Christians (and for that matter, all of us) a warning about the exact sort of leader we should avoid like the plague. And the Felon of Mar-a-Lago fits those descriptions all too well.
