Being privileged or not is no real excuse for who you become. We all start in different places, with different people, and in different conditions, but the choices you make in life truly determine who you become.

Actually since leonard is white and both his parents are doctors (phd) i assume he can be considered very privileged as well, the only thing he was lacking was parental love.

Yeah, I agree it was almost like Phoebe was self-conscious or angry about her life being hard rather than really missing out on doing things with her mom. She always talked about her mom dying. Not missing her. I really empathized with Howard. Especially this episode, the card episode, and the stepbrother episode.

Divya Sasidharan Well, Penny has actually had to struggle in her life. I mean, compared with her kids (Leonard and his siblings), Penny is the only person who has had to work hard to achieve what she wants. I mean, of course Beverly's children are academics but they are naturally intelligent and had more resources available to them. For Beverly, her kids' accomplishments are not that big of a deal, and we know that because she wasnt proud of them. But for Penny, I guess Beverly feels she deserves more recognition. Although I don't like how she treats her kids it is her natural flaw I guess
