@@mrdragonage7446 with the subjunctive (subjunctive only) its preferred to use WERE with every pronoun to avoid confusion, yeah there are ways of using WAS with those pronouns but it wouldn't have the same meaning. I quote beyonce's "if I were a boy". But if you're talking in past simple tense then I/he/she/it: WAS you/we/they: WERE (Past simple TENSE and subjunctive MOOD are not the same) However, the black community has another approach on that grammar rule, which is 100% valid since language changes, so if you see that around I wouldn't recommend you correct them. If you prefer traditional English then > were
