That goes straight to the top of the comments. Do you remember where it was filmed? Was it down at the house, or somewhere else?

It wasn’t the house.... I’m pretty sure it was a studio in west London . I’m going to ask the stylist, I’m still friends with her x

@ndgreenaway The heavy reliance on the presenters was both its blessing and its curse. The ironic thing is, even the worst moments of The Big Breakfast still outshine most other breakfast TV output, to this day.
@AndrewDaley-lr9qg4 ай бұрын
Surely it would of been cheeper to pay Denise more back then.
@97channel4 ай бұрын
@@AndrewDaley-lr9qg The trick they missed was in the opportunity to have Denise's short-term contract cross over from Johnny leaving, into the new hosts arriving. Bringing Denise back for Johnny's final few months actually made the situation of him leaving much worse, because it only served to take the show to a higher level to plummet from when he left. If they could have had Denise continue for a short while longer to ease in the transition to the new hosts, it may have stood half a chance. But to bring Denise back for her to leave on the same day as Johnny was a strategic disaster.

They tried to reinvent the Big Breakfast we all knew and loved into a glossy magazine show, these titles definitely showed that and it failed, we didn't want glossy or magazine, we wanted wacky and familiar, fun and enlightening, entertaining. This rebrand stripped TBB of all that made it what it was a fun wacky early morning breakfast experience because that's what you got, you never knew what was around the corner, sometimes it could be so spontaneous.

The titles look like the the current (2012) Hollyoaks titles?

That was the nail in the coffin, well putting Richard Bacon in the chair is what finally killed it. I remember the Rick and Sharon era being very bad but not as awful as this.

@TravelJay1982 I know, horrible aren't they? They pulled the entire lot, including all the break bumpers etc within a matter of about 12 to 15 weeks, something like that.

Have to say whoever selected these 3 to replace jonny and denise should never have worked in telly again! The show died the day jonny and denise went for good sadly...

the re-launch was needed but the content lacked (like the 96 relaunch) and this is why the trio failed, the 2 presenter thing worked best, the sofa and big tv was a good ideas and should have been kept but ultimateky Mike Mclean and Sara thingy should have been the new duo
@97channel6 жыл бұрын
The relaunch was doomed to fail, the way It came right off the back of the resurgence of reuniting Johnny with Denise. Dermot O'Leary was offered the role of male host, but turned it down because he considered the job of replacing Johnny to be a "Poisoned challis.". Channel 4 had long let it be known to Planet 24 that they were only interested in keeping the show whilst Johnny was hosting. It was stipulated in the contract that Channel 4 had to give a full year's notice before they could close the show down, which is exactly what they did only 2 months after the relaunch failed. I think that both the 1996 and 2001 relaunches were actually alright, but failed mainly because of the pace of change being too severe. In both cases, I think they reverted to the original style just as viewers were started to warm to the changes. I believe that Paul Tonkinson could potentially have been one of the best Big Breakfast presenters, he's very funny as a stand-up and actually did lend a lot of that wit to the show. But he had very big shoes to fill and started out a bit nervy looking and a out of his comfort zone, which he turned into a running joke of trying to manage the genuine sweat patches under his arms. He was in the right place at the wrong time.
