Felicia I was thinking about becoming natural but I’m absolutely positive I wont be cutting it this short I’m just gonna be cutting the straight ends and plus I really wanna know my curl pattern badly. My sister recently cut her hair off about 5 months ago and she has loose curls and my other sister has been a natural for about 2 years and she has very thick hair.

*I want to big chop my hair but I’m getting really irritated when people say I shouldn’t, just because my hair is long doesn’t mean it’s healthy 🤨🤦🏾♀️* Edit: so I ended up cutting my hair but since I’ve been relaxing my hair from a very young age I don’t know how to manage natural hair at all. I think my hair type is a 4a-4b and it is VERY thick. So because I didn’t know how to do my hair at all I got it perm curled and it looks really nice but it’s really annoying because when I wash my hair literally a handful of my hair comes out and now it’s quarantine my natural roots are growing back I kind of want to go natural again but I don’t have any products for my natural hair and my mum doesn’t know how to do hair either so I don’t know what to do. EDIT: 2 years later I cut my hair again and it’s fully natural now 😁😁

@maggie10007 жыл бұрын
Carly Wash If you don't want to big chop just stop damaging your hair (like with heat and chemicals etc) and let your hair grow since it grows from the roots then once your new growth is a length you like start cutting off the damaged hair
@maggie10007 жыл бұрын
Carly Wash It doesn't have to be all at once! Like I decided I wanted to go natural but I didn't want to do the big chop so I just stopped flat ironing it and using heat (I had stopped relaxer 2yrs ago and had colored it dark red 1yr ago) and since my hair has been growing I've just progressively been cutting off the dead hair each time my natural hair grows. So it's been at the same length bc when it grows 1inch I cut 1inch off the end but now my hair is all natural so I don't have to cut anymore just trim it! :)

Ugh your hair looks so perfect I'm so jealous..I did the big chop few days ago and it was your length, until my dad said that I needed to "level it out", so he took me to the barbershop where my brother used to and he gets his hair cut. I told the lady I didn't want any additional length removed..But he told her to how many inches to give me. I'm so pissed, now I look like my little brother when he was 12..They think it's hilarious and don't think it's a big deal because they're hair is always short, and it pisses me tf off so much because my hair takes forever to grow and I loved my hair. And he's like "it looks great" while laughing and I'm seriously thinking stfu I'm starting college in a few days idgaf if you think it looks nice, now look like a teenage boy..I am seriously so pissed right now I'm crying and fuming, I'm so furious at them...uhh sorry I needed to rant

Lol omgggg girlll I understand!! Sometimes you just need to get it out and rant! But yea as you can see everybody is telling me to go to the barber and get a little shape up too. In the future you are going to laugh your ass off like I am right now at that story. Years ago, I let my mom line me up and she took a chunk out of the back. A mere trim left me with a bald spot that I had to cover with black shoe polish for weeks. She was upset more than I was truly. I was in shock. All I could do was laugh at myself. Laughter is healing girl and sometimes it's best to rebuild your vanity with a stronger foundation. I bet your beautiful either way. Your confidence got tested. You passed.

Exactly! Like, my hair has been damaged for months. I plan on cutting it (tomorrow, in fact). But of course everyone is asking me, "Why would you cut it?" Well, I have tons of split ends and breakage in the back of my head, my afro looks funny. I don't want it anymore. I wanna start over. My mom is fine with it, seeing as she's seen firsthand how damaged my hair is. My father and stepmother, however, as protective of my "beautiful natural hair" they are, are so mad at me for it. They don't understand. ;-;

Girl, the struggle is real. I got mine "cut into a style", well she didn't do it how I wanted. Gave me an old school finger wave after chopping off my hair. And I didn't even need it cut. I've been natural for six years, I just wanted a nice change. But after seeing the cut on me with my forehead, I regretted the moment I stepped foot in that salon. WeddingxPeach97 I'm with you, im really considering doing it either in a month, or on my 18th bday next year just to prepare myself, im going to have to do it one day, might as well do it now. I'm cutting my hair soon (this would be my third big chop btw) and I told my grandparents and the way they reacted was a little disheartening, but what most people don't realise is that your hair just doesn't stop growing, if it's being properly nourished, taken care of, and you don't have anything medically wrong. They also don't understand that in order to have healthier looking hair, that sometimes that is a step that has to be taken. With that being said you're a gorgeous girl, and after cutting it your hair will grow back thick and healthy. You are so inspiring and I'm excited for your journey. I am learning that hair is just hair and to not let it define how I feel about myself. I have very unhealthy hair at the moment (color damage, heat damage, etc.) and I will be cutting it off despite the way anyone feels. Thanks for making this video Chrissy❤

My hair is so damaged and uneven, do to severe anemia, to the point where they were talking about giving me blood transfusions which is not happening to, having to have ablation surgery, to stem the loss of blood and of course my hair has suffered and I need to start fresh, I'm scared tho cuz, I'm older, heavier and unsure if I can pull off a twa (okay I'm a bit vain too) but I gotta do it. U didn't even have to cut as much as u did, but you have inspired me! I'm going in.

I recommend you getting a fully braided| No leave out| sew in , and to keep it in for about 3 months because now that it's cut, your hair will grow wonders and when your hair is braided for that long, your hair will grow thicker stronger and even more longer, with a tighter curl pattern. I had this experience and before I got my 3 month sew in, I had my hair cut a bit and it was very damaged and broken off(Around the end of March) and when I took it out(June 21), The new growth was INSANE! I have picture of the braids and you couldn't even see them. I actually thought the braids were detached from my head Lol. But my curl pattern was tighter than ever and I gradually let my hair grow and cut the ends slowly over time. This is just a recommendation and wish the best for your hair. Love your new look btw. It is Highkey cute 😻. You will it regret it and keep going!

but doesn't it smell , I've never put weaves on and worry about this especially starting my new fitness
@theonekayy22518 жыл бұрын
+241Genevieve If you want the benefits I do suggest you do it| The smelling could definitely be bad but you can wash your head like normal (I didn't do this personally because I didn't have a bad smell, but everyone's hair is different) you can search for "how to wash your hair with a sew in" videos and hope that helps. With your fitness, you can get your hair fully braided and get a wig, I believe it would have the same benefits because it's all about the braids and the time you leave it in. And after a fitness you can take the hair off and wash the braids if you want :) hopefully it helps, Wish you the best!

My hair is kinda damaged. But i kinda wanna cut my hair like yours because I'm bored with my hair. But then short hair would probably make me look older. I'm only 14
@starrwilliams75928 жыл бұрын
My hair was totally damaged from relaxing it since i was five. I've been in and out natural ever since. I recently cut off all my hair and I've found that it made me look much younger! People tell me i look 12 (I'm actually 16) :) ♥
@kiarajefferson75308 жыл бұрын
me too! my hair when stretched (in my kitchen) is up to my collarbone, and when the front (where my edges are) is stretched is up to maybe a little past the tip of my nose. i will say that it makes you look younger. I have a truly juvenile face and I wear makeup all the time and people really do think I look 12. But it is worth it for the health.
@itshelina8 жыл бұрын
my hair was so damaged and i decided to cut it when i was 13 hella short, now im 14 almost 15 and my hair is a lot healthier and now collar bone length (stretched) i recommend cutting it so when u reach highschool your hair will thrive
@neveralone30448 жыл бұрын
+Star Williams I cut my relaxed ends at 13. I'm 14 now going on 15 in October and my hair looks great! I do naturally look older, however so I mean cutting my hair didn't make me look any older (or younger)
@carmenmendez21288 жыл бұрын
Idk people always tell me I look older anyways, even though I have an extreme baby face. But I think I'll maybe wait until I'm 16 or 17, imma see how my hair does. I've never had a relaxer before, so I've been natural my whole life. The thing is I always get my hair straight. I don't really like my hair curly, its like 3C 4A. But yeah. If i get short hair I will probably just straighten it anyways. I have heat damage because I have these straight, stringy ends when my hair is in it's natural state.

I permed my hair and kept it braided so I had a lot of new growth so I cut of my permed hair... it was kind of a relief because my permed hair wasn't growing and when I was young I had long hair but my mom permed it and it broke off so yeah my hair was damaged so my mom put it in braids (a protective style)

+applez514 well I'm not gonna tell u what to do because at the end of the day it's ur decision... but it's better to end it then dealing with it every day but u can still put it in braids and wear weave or just wear it out and maybe it will grow to be longer then what it was or is❣️😊

had long hair all my life but i get tired fast and my style always changes so i’ve cut it super short before + permed + dyed it all at once, went natural, hair grew long again, got a texturizer, bleached and dyed it, now im waiting til december to cut it off again. i can’t wait!! been binge watching binge chops for weeks. miss my natural curl pattern and my hair grows back fast.

I'm confused. I looked at every last one of those pictures in the slideshow and even with color the hair looks totally cared for and healthy. I don't know what you're looking for but it is also okay to try different things. I'd be grateful for hair like that. God Bless
@ChrissyCousin8 жыл бұрын
Thank you! And that was actually pictures of my hair when I first big chopped, when my hair was healthy. Those pictures were before I experienced heat damage and also damage from bleaching my ends. Hopefully this cleared things up for you.

Yes ma'am. Heat damage - the reason I'm afraid to flat iron my own hair. LoL I'm sure that you could rock any kind of hairstyle though. You're a pretty woman. Thanks for sharing this video!

I've been going through some hair issues and I've been in denial trying to save it for years. And I'm still battling. After watching your videos, you've helped me mentally prepare for the big chop of my natural hair. I need it to be healthy. Tomorrow is the big day!!
@DaishaView8 жыл бұрын
I'm gonna be cutting my dreads soon. I totally sympathize with this video! People will get mad that you're cutting your hair because it's "so long" but if it ain't healthy it don't matter lol. Even if it is healthy and long, if you wanna cut it then it's YOUR hair and you have that right 💁🏽

I'm thinking about cutting my hair next summer, and I told my friend's about it and some of them oppose to it and it sorts of pulls me back from cutting it because I never wanted to cut my hair that short before (like a pixie cut) My hair is very damaged and I explained to them that I don't want to keep holding on to these dead hairs. My hair has been relaxed and this past year, ironed and blow dried every week, my mom said she relaxed it because it was hard to handle (And she's used to using chemicals). I'm African and Puerto Rican (Mom is African and Dad is Puerto Rican) And both sides of my family have curly hair. My mom's side is tighter and more like 4c or 4b while my Dad's side is wavy. I've seen my baby pictures and I had beautiful curly hair and I want that again. I want it to be curly and free! You are a part of my motivation and inspiration that I am building up so that I can cut it. Honestly, I'm really attached to my hair and right now it's at shoulder length but when I was younger it was longer and I know it can go way longer. I can't wait!

On that day because I watch you do it I had the urge and courage to do the same, and it's been two years since I've been natural and I've decided to cut my hair once again and start over due to heat damage and my hair not being the same so thank you for helping me, and giving me the courage and now I can love my hair in every way shape and form that it grows in!!
