Reason may be that some Indian military officers apply a higher standard for 'India made' equipment. There maybe some prejudice involved. They start arguing with the DRDO engineers and officials, instead of taking some trouble to demonstrate their reservations with the prototype made by DRDO. On their part the DRDO should also be sympathetic to the men who put their lives in the effectiveness of the equipment. As always, Indians should know that only through mutual understanding can any success can be achieved. Intemperate arguments and mutual dislike is the biggest handicap for Indians.

I see great advances are made in design and manufacture of our guns. As usual excellent presentation. The presenter, even if he reads, my comments will not respond, but can someone with military background clarify my curiosity. Are all our gun barrels are made in India or they are imported and assembled. If they are entirely Indian is the metallurgy that went into making the barrel is Indian. If so it is great. When the IIT designed shells will be available for use. If a gun has a range of 50 to 70 km it is for saturation fire The fire could smash empty fields and civilian areas rather than military targets. How the targets are fixed. Another aspect is if such guns are not for China border, why do we require so many guns are needed if they are intended to tackle Pakistan. Lastly how frequently the gun barrel needs to be changed. If more than 200000 shells are fired in 17 days how many barrels are replaced due to cracks and over heating. Can knowledgeable expert clarify please.

DD has been biased in this video. ATAGS has not been inducted into the Indian Army but has been talking about it extensively and ignoring the guns developed by Bharath Forge.

one of the atags version is made by bharat forge only, their MGS is also based on ATAGS. Rest of their guns like mounted 105mm does not suit current requirments of our army.

We all know the importance of artillery. But those in power don't seem to understand this. Even after 10 years in power bjp has not ordered any significant numbers. The Mounted Guns systems is no where near. The wheeled artillery is not there. The self propelled artillery is nowhere there. There is no major order for Towed artillery system. All only talk. Extremely disappointing indeed. Now another front opening on the Eastern front we are surrounded by enemies on all sides. Not to talk about the Mmrca. Valuable nation's time is lost. No difference between this government and the previous one. May be marginally better.
