Insurance in general functions because most of the people using it pay more into it then what they will take out. Most people are healthy enough that that their medical expenses are generally low, but some people that require more care would not be able to pay their medical bills if they weren't being subsidized by someone who pays more than what they will use. I suppose that if you would rather pay for your medical costs 1:1, or just pay for what you need when you need it, you could avoid this. I wouldn't. The whole revenue scheme of Insurance companies is that most people won't avail the insurance since they won't need to and they will have a net profit. You don’t get your house burned down and then buy fire insurance and expect the insurance companies to rebuild your house. Pre existing conditions are some of the stupidest things ever

As someone who has grown up with the NHS in england im struggling to see why people in the U.S are so against the idea of a more governmental supported healthcare system, that is aside from the whole "but i dont want to pay more tax". So can anyone calmly explain this dilemma?

Woah our candidates who are supposed to represent us changed their views because Americans are saying it’s important?? Imagine being part of a party that’s willing to change instead of fighting on partisan lines

2:45 Everyone that is concerned about health care should go and search that town meeting speech of that wonderful man ("town hall willingboro, nj 2017," the 13min clip). That man speaking is on F I R E !

Is a pre existing condition like having a car and not carrying insurance for it because you wanted the money for a very fine vacation and then you get into an accident which causes $4000.00 of damage to your car, and now, you run out to get auto insurance to pay for the repairs? In your opinion, should the insurer agree to foot the repair bill?Just asking because I really would like to know.

Are you telling me that the politicians are listening to what people care about and adjusting their direction? Nah, that's crazy talk.

I’m confused. Does not supporting the affordable care act always equal not supporting pre-existing conditions being covered?

Healthcare, the basic right for everyone living a developed country. Something that will instead ruin you financially in the US. American politics is laughably unrepresentative and undemocratic. The blue team vs the red team, but both parties are too big and try to represent too many competing interests, so there is no real political ideological debate going on, just an entrenched war where you win if the other team publicly loses. The problem is people see politics as a zero sum game in the US where one side can only win if the other side loses. So a system like social democracy that we know works far better which is heavily rooted in co-operation and compromise for the greater good so that everyone can benefit in a fair manner is never going to be acceptable to many people. People need a loser to feel like a winner and social democracy tries to mitigate losses for everyone as best as possible. Fun fact: 22% of Republicans and 37% of Democrats supported President Obama issuing missile strikes against Syria in 2013, 86% of Republicans and 38% of Democrats supported President Trump striking Syria in 2017, a 64 point swing for Republicans, a 1 point change for Democrats. This wouldn't happen anywhere else in the world. I can't imagine how many people must be fooled into this type of politics to let their party swing their opinion so strong.

Raise your hands people, would you keep an employee around who had EIGHT YEARS to come up with a viable plan but totally failed to consider even the basics of what you assigned them and flubbed the whole thing at the end? Well, would you? Or would you kick them to the curb?

Why should private companies be forced to do business with individuals at a higher risk?
@zendikarisparkmage29386 жыл бұрын
I'm not comfortable with forcing insurance companies to cover people with preexisting conditions for the same price as healthy people because I don't approve of forcing anyone to do anything.
