Butland has saved our asses so many times with great saves, he also had some great saved against Man U. Yes he made a mistake, a bad one, but name me a goalie who hasn't ? Anyway who wants to come to Rangers ? who can we afford ? The day will come when we can pick and choose who we want and have people banging down the door for a Rangers place but we are seasons away from this. We are where we are and our current players need encouragement especially the young ones and new ones who don't need to see a future of fans turning on them anytime they make a mistake.

Rubbish comment!!!! Young inexperienced players need game time because they are the future of our club. Both Curtis and Rice were excellent considering when they came on. Butland is supposed to be a seasoned veteran. He’s looked like an amateur at times over the last 8-12 months. Mistake after mistake every time he plays. Never comes for a cross and his distribution is terrible!!!!

My thoughts exactly. Jack has saved us on many occasions in the past. Yes he made a BIG mistake in a BIG game. Take the emotion out the game , he made some great saves to keep us in the game, but ppl with short memories or just love to hate. There is far worse players in that team, Bejrami for sure is an empty shirt, week in week out, he has done nothing since he signed. get rid asap. As for the young lads, 👏👏👏. Get these lads in the starting line up against Dundee utd. Bailey Rice would defo offer more than Bejrami, and if Cerny is injured then use Curtis out on the wing. Lets see what they can do. This is what myself and fans have been shouting out for.

Morning troops, I thought some of the players looked nervous and it showed with performances especially from Ridvan and Jeffte. I was surprised to see Butland start when he has been out injured for weeks with no game time. Thought Tav was excellent when he moved into the centre of defence and great to see Rice and Curtis get on the park.

I would like us to sign Ivan Nevistic. Big imposing keeper or Nikola Cavlina. By the way I see Celtic are losing Kyogo. He is talismanic for them. I think they could really struggle without him. The winning aspects of that team are inherited from Postecoglou. Even having money to spend guarantees nothing.

It is so sad that so called Rangers supporters are berating players. The Man U CB cost more than our entire squad. We had several players missing, then 3 players injured and we only just lost. Butland made 5 saves, Raskin tripped at a vital moment, but won so many tackles in midfield, as well as heading a shot away that could have been a goal.

It’s a no brained.. souness would have had a goalkeeper who does not make repeat mistakes… be sure souness did,nt tolerate mistakes at rangers… so it’s a priority now a great keeper who commands his 8 yard box.. for we will continue to leak goals from set pieces corners from any high balls in.. I would have kept Kelly in even if we did get beat by more am sure Kelly would have punched that one clear.. it was a goalkeepers to punch clear he could have even used two hands to make sure and he was,nt convincing with the one hand no excuses it was his to clear he is a big guy.. and with hands has height over however many in front of him.. poor keeping in an important euro game.. and that set the tone on the back foot.. and we leak too many first..

However everything is vital, from Butlands error and saves he made to Raskin and Ridvan missing guilt edged chances. Kelly might be a better shot stopper or be cooler under pressure. If we have 1st choice defense playing last night I don't think Butland would have had as much to do

I think they were lucky to get the win. They had moments but had to rely on a mistake by our keeper and then struggled to score against a make shift defence and a very young side

Jack butland should not been in the goal.. Kelly should been in.. for that is criminal in European football not punching a your ball clear and if not sure you go with two hands… failed big time… and the saves he did after it don,t make up for the mistake..

I agree. I don't think it's fair any player just walks straight back in. It has to be earned and Kelly was doing well. It's bad management and surely effects morale when someone gets dropped when performing. Butland should have had to bide his time until Kelly had a bad match.

Jefte has potential and needs to learn otherwise he needs to go. Ridvan should be sold if we can get decent money. Thought we struggled to move up the pitch because Cerny was well marked and we had nothing on the left. Igamane runs about but often when we gain possession he is out of position. Man Utd's better wingers exposed our weaknesses to an extent only seen when we are playing Celtic in Scotland.

The team played ok in patches. But bajrami has to offer more if he's to be a success at Rangers, liked the look of rice when in possession, there's not many Scottish players that look up before they make a pass and he looks to have a bright future. Ridvan was appalling imo, really bad in and out of possession. I might be nit picking here but to me Barron looked Asif he didn't believe he could compete against fernandes, abit like a rabbit in the headlights

Barron, Balogun and Cerny all injured. At the rate we're going the kids will get a run and maybe thats not a bad thing. Rice and Curtis did ok last night on a very big stage. Igamane held the ball up and played it off well. Im sure a few sides will have noted his play. Pity young Lovelace didnt get 10 minutes. The side v Dundee United will depend on availability. Probably Butland/ Tav, Nsiala, Propper, Jeftt/ Raskin, Diamonde/ McCausland, Hagi, Bejrami/ Igamane... Id personally like to see Rice start though..

Do folk actually believe Barron is good enough. That boy looked the most out his depth out the lot. And for once I agree with the fans that say ever since he never got picked for England he has went downhill. The fact he was even in contention shows how far he’s fallen. I’d play Rice over Barron. I’d play Munn over the other 2 goalies just for him to learn on the job. The only thing this season we have look forward too is the youth. Barron should be the first sold in the trading model. I am ashamed of the Rangers fans that caused trouble last night. As much as I am sure it wasn't all one sided, its unacceptable and unnecessary for the violence that was happening. There were children there, and honestly, anyone should be able to go, take in a game and occasion, and enjoy the rivarly. Banter and wind ups are fine, but there needs to be basic respect and decency. Most fans were well behaved, its always an idiot minority making the club look bad. The responsibility should mostly be on Utds security measures, but both clubs need to take stock and learn lessons.

We are constantly told how highly rated Munn is, so let's see how good he really is at first team level with a run of games, not just Scottish Cup games here & there.

But in turn, you could say McGregor was not Klos or Goram it all depends how far back you remember & how far back you want to go. I honestly dont see us getting a keeper anywhere close to McGregor never mind Klos or Goram any time soon the funds are just not there to do it. Our best bet for the rest of the season is to play Mason Munn in goal & see how that goes.

Mgregor was on their level at his peak. Our best keepers of all time are Goram first​, for me, Mgregor and then Klos and its a sliver difference between all. Butland is nowhere near them. @alanfox691

Honestly, what am I listening to? Wanting a new keeper?? Butland literally is dominating in the air. He saves us coming for crosses a lot of the time. He’s messed up lately, that happens, but it doesn’t help when you don’t have any players who are dominant in the air to help him. It adds a lot more pressure that he needs to come for more crosses. Sometimes crosses he shouldn’t come for. Get two dominant in the air CBs and those mistakes will be cut out. For Butlands howler, look at the size of Rangers’ team compared to Utd’s. Only one winner. Butland's form has dipped, co-inciding with the birth of his child. If you've ever been a parent, you'll understand that this time is SO FRIKKIN' CHALLENGING that it shouldn't come as a surprise that something's been impacted. So, no, I don't think we need to spend money on a new goalie, but maybe we do need to give Liam Kelly an extended run in goal to allow Jack to rebalance himself and allow his life to settle again. He's a top, top goalie (look at some saves last night), but it's too simple to look at his footie performances in blind isolation of the wider life changes he is experiencing.
