Got mine Yesterday. Amazing car ( S version). I was surprised at night to see the many LED lights and also the logo being projected from the driver's door handle down to the street...

A Just pleasure to watch your show. One of the best + you even know how to drive the real cars. Thanks again. I have a new Mini Cooper 1.5 turbo, manual - 2014. So happy with that engine. Place on sport and you have enough power to drive fast.

the new design of Mini Countryman its perfectly beautiful, BMW Engineers had done a wonderful job of transforming the car by adding a few size or inches and more horse power. but maintaining its heritage of the Mini its lovely appearance even if the car is in a few distance from you. You can identify it right away that its a Mini Countryman. if only i have a money i will not hesitate to buy it right away. this is my dream car suv 2.0 liter turbocharge diesel 220 horse power 250 pound feet of torque 4 wheel manual drive.I'm optimistic that this Mini country man car will become a cash cow in the years to come for BMW group congratulations.

You're not saving weight by having less gas since in it's place is a whole hybrid system which almost definitely weighs more than 7gal of fuel Also those seats are real leather and are like a $2000 option

Now let's go back a few years with the Mini, okay let's say 40 years. My Dad in Scotland had a Mini America or as today would be a Mini Countryman, besides the futuristic looks of a Mini today with the difference of engine's they had one all those years ago too so nothing to me is New! Now. a Mini for the wife on Vancouver Island sure it would be practical but I just sold the 3 girls so I could get the 991 S so don't change my mind now! Cheers

Personally love the newer design rather than the 2016 mini countryman I own. Both are very interesting designs. But i love my countryman, best all round tourer. By the way for all you interested; do not go for the hybrid model. Main reason is because the range is cut in half from the main models. My countryman S would get 540 km range (400 miles). A hybrid would only get 440 km range (330 miles roughly). So it's probably better with the normal models.

Speakers under seats are the subs, just like the HK option on the smaller Mini models.

It looks odd to me, M. Not that I'm a MINI purser, but it just looks weird, I have to see it in person before I can pass my final judgement. As always, excellent work, M!

I liek what they are doing with the countryman. It’s beefy AF. It’s the British strongman of the British mini family. The off-road race variants look amazing

Wasn't too keen on the bigger, bulkier Mini's, but I have to say this doesn't look too bad.I like the squarish headlights and the overall looks. But due to the track record of past Minis, I have to wonder about reliability and maintenance costs.

Motoman and I have been discussing the Countryman for a little while privately. My wife drives the 2011 Countryman ALL4 automatic. It has 85000 miles on it and while we would be considered likely buyers for the new version, especially for the plug in hybrid, my wife and I have had it with Mini. After a turbocharger failed at 46000 miles, that was followed by a coolant system leak and two fuel pumps, the second being replaced 18 months after the first replacement. Mini is supposed to have replaced the second fuel pump under an extended warranty plan but failed to notify any of the third party maintenance shops of this program. Why did we not take it to the dealer? Because of the horrid customer service we got at the Nashville Sonic owned Mini dealer who couldn't do simple customer notification of vehicle status right (multiple times). Sonic failed to take any real ownership of the problem and I've washed my hands of them as a dealer network and Mini as a whole. And I can't say I have any warm fuzzies with BMW either after this. It's a shame since it looks like the car has some noticeable improvements I care about. But not enough to forgive and forget the last 5 1/2 years, and especially the last three years of ownership.

Don't know if it helps, but the new mini's have new engines. They all come from BMW. I drive my second MINI F56 Cooper at the moment and haven't had any problems with it. I like the new motors and the interior quality has gone up quite a lot from the older generation. But yeah, if the service is not good from your dealer I would also not like a new one from them.

I work in enterprise customer service where I have to make sure that customers who spend millions on what we do are getting their proper value. I'm realistic that bad things happen. What differentiates a good or great company from an average or poor company is how they deal with customer service problems. Apple figured out a while ago that flexibility with customer problems tends to keep customers coming back for years and continue to invest in high dollar goods. Few things are more expensive to an individual than an automobile. And most automotive brands have to depend on a partnership between themselves and the dealer network. I've seen really good service from some dealers over a long period of time, not just a single event. But my experience with Sonic as a dealer network has been lacking and disappointing, and this goes back several years, not just this experience. My advice to anyone in the car service business is to: 1. Over-communicate. Lots can and will be forgiven if you keep a customer informed. 2. Be honest. This goes without saying but customers demand and can handle the truth, even if it's going to be expensive. 3. Be flexible. Give customers less expensive options as long as safety isn't compromised. And especially remember this during disputes. 4. If an issue has to go back to the manufacturer's zone manager, remember to be the customer advocate, not another obstacle. Your mission is to make the customer happier and willing to come back not only to your service bay but to buy new cars from you. Think about this customer coming back to you for the next decade or more, not this single transaction. 5. Always give customers the names and contact information of leadership members either at the dealer, their parent company or the manufacturer. Keeping this information private only antagonizes the situation. 6. Never knock competitors, even if the customer brings them up. It makes you look petty and small. 7. Did I say over-communicate? NEVER FORGET THIS.

Sevenfeet0 I have same model and year as you. I am at 117k and have went through two HP Fuel pumps and it is currently sitting in my drive with a suspected third failure! Granted Mini has extended the warranty on that part but what a pain. I will admit, painfully, I still love it. I bought a 2nd gen Volt and love it but I like this new hybrid from Mini. Not sure the range is enough, but again I still love Mini design.

im a current countryman all 4 owner, and their design has indeed "matured". im not the biggest fan, too squared, looks like a fancy subaru. much of the original. charm is just gone. i dont see myself trading mine in for the new one.
@franciskeogh56107 жыл бұрын
I agree the charm has been compromised by the new bland and generic looking front end. The JCW version is especially ugly imo.

styling f/r is fine and in line w/their previous fascias...however, their prices are not MINI by any means...it does not matter what car/trim I build, I am "always" finding myself adding 10-20% of the base price to a car to something decent...sure, there may be a lot of things standard, but by no means is it a complete package...when/how did MINI position themselves in the pseudo-luxury market...just because they are European doesn't mean their avg transaction price should be over $30k...I thought platform sharing was supposed to reduce costs, but I think the opposite is happening

It is a "mini" X5. Or a mini-fullsize-suv. Great design, Just not mini anymore. And I bet the prices did not go up a mini-nudge. They grew to fullsize. Basically, BMW killed the Mini in a very stylish way. And made it "Der Ueber-MINI!" Affengeil....nein.
