Non of them mentioned the fact that Naga territory was never under any Indian ruler from time immemorial. That it was the British who governed about half of the Naga land. And when India got it's independence from the British, Nagas also declared to the world that they would go back to being the free peoole that they were. But India sent armed forces and massacred lakhs of innocent Nagas which started the whole armed movement of the Nagas. So the same as India fought for Independence from the British, Nagas are also fighting for their freedom. Nagas were never the aggressors, it was India. And India need to acknowledge this fact instead of saying things like sovereignty is out of the question. What if the British also said sovereignty of India was out of the question? Indian leaders and media needs to be honest and humble. Let's not forget that India is the occupational force and the aggressors. Nagas never attacked any Indian state or threatened India in any manner. If we cherish our Bharat, let them also have their freedom!

Dear brothers and sisters, I myself a Naga here. Let's not be misunderstand about this issue. By fighting to have separate flag and constitution or separate government doesn't meant that we hate India. We love India but there is a big reason behind why we are doing this for. We don't have any history about being under the rules of different tribes or countries Since time immemorial. We've been a sovereign people. Now we are under Indian govt. coz of force occupation. So now we are having a peace talk so that we can govern by ourself. Hope you will support us to Achieve it . Just briefing about the issue in a simple way. Thanks for reading. Good day.

*114. NAGA ISSUE* • Demand for separate nation started with the formation of Naga National council - Insurgency • Naga people want to protect their dignity & their uniqueness in culture, language. • Demand for greater Nagalim in 1960’s - 1980’s • Cyclic process of violence & dialogue. In 2015, framework agreement was signed between GoI & NSCN-IM • Naga Constitution & flag is non-negotiable by their groups. Challenges & Realities • Multiple stakeholders spread across different states - different political groups, youth, Churches, civil societies. • Special status of Kashmir taken away: Separate constitution is out of question • Redrawing of boundaries is not possible & Nagas understand that. Way Forward: • Democratic perspective: include all stakeholders & political groups. • Integrating the Naga society. • autonomous governing council which can be beyond boundaries • Role of church could be more definitive: Naga mother’s association role has been positive. • Just like Mizoram National front - Naga groups should be included in the political process Any solution should be inclusive, honourable and acceptable to all sections of the people

India has a federal setup of Governance where centre and state both shares power to Govern ....In return ,All the states are benefitted as people get to enjoy resources of the entire union rather than the state alone ..Nagas are already given autonomy , Exclusive rights to not be interfered by Indians from other states while Nagas themselves can settle in any part of India and they also get the shares of taxes from other states for the development of their own state along with right to chose government both in centre and in their state along with the say in Governance ..The Chief Minister and its party members are Nagas ..Indian army protects the border of Nagaland and so are Naga Flags respected ..Nagas themselves gets fundamental rights that are availed to all Indian citizens and are treated equal to others ..Plus they also get reservations in Government jobs due to them being tribals ...Central Government is also allowing insurgent groups like NSCN to speak on the issue and is listening to them ...I believe Nagas are getting more than they deserve being part of Union of India ..Should it not be the responsibility of Nagas to ensure that they altleast respect the territorial integrity of Union of India which is willing to listen to them and treat them as equals rather than being greedy for piece of land and fighting for the sake of pride ... The relation between India and Nagaland is symbiotic ,not of a conqueror where people are repressed ,Discriminated and their resources looted ... It's time that Naga people also act maturely ,Fighting for the sake of pride rather than better future in which Nagas can live with respect and dignity with rest of India surely is a far better prospect ...

Few years back NSCN IM crossed the Dhansiri river (border between Assam n Nagaland) n camped in the Dimasa village n warned people to leave the village immediately. Villagers fleed n for many days there was a sand off between Assam police n NSCN IM. The encroachment ended after intense gunfight, district magistrate from Karbi Anglong was shot by a sniper n several NSCN cadres were also killed. Even today hundreds of acres of land of Karbi Anglong has been encroached by Nagaland near Dilai n Dimapur. They usually comes at night n clear the forest bringing JCB n other machines to cut trees.

There cannot be any honorable solution for Nagas if India take only contemporaries issues into perspectives. First of all, India need to understand and honour the history of Nagas and why Naga insurgency issue is the oldest in Indian history. Naga Issue is as old as India's Independence or even older, in fact Nagas have even declared themselves an independent nation one day ahead of India i.e, on 14 August 1947. It was only been gradually enacted into Indian union in the later years but that too without the will of all the nagas, and that is the reason why naga insurgency still exist to date. Their demands are legitimate and historical and they are not looking for some special packages here and there, India needs be very clear on that. Also, India should realized that Nagas have narrowed down their demand from a separate independent nation to now Nagalim/integration of all nagas under one administrative unit within Indian Union, that is a lot that they've compromised on their part, so India should also reciprocate by granting them their second wish. It is not easy to redraw the already existing states of India but not impossible if Article 3 of Indian Constitution is invoke. Remember Telangana state was created from AP in 2014 using the same provision and authority of the constitution, why not Nagalim then?

It's not Government of India's prerogative to force other North east states to give up their part of territory to Nagaland ...At best Government can allow NSCN IM to talk to other states and if they are ready to secede their territories for nagalim than Government can change the map accordingly ...Its all upto NSCN IM and Naga people to convince other states to give up their part of territory for the sake of Nagaland

Faults began to appear and India got separated from Africa 150 million years ago.. *At Palogene Period (30 million years ago) India collided with Eurasia plate and the young fold mountains (The Great Himalaya) originated which kept Indian mainland unique.. Pakistan separated from its Big Brother in 1947(upon some narrow concerns). We liberated Bangladesh from Pakistan and make it a new nation. Why only Nagas are concerned in dealing the naga issues? If it doesn't effect the interest of other commodities and neighboring states there is no problem at all but the questions are how could it be possible without affecting the interest of the manipures, asamese, arunachalies etc. These states have their own unique histories which is much older than the nagas. NAGAS are created by the British. Present issue is also one of the issues left by them when they left India. It seems non of the panelist are aware of the real issues. One should not be one sided.
