111.TV.192 - This episode of The Big Picture, titled “The Eyes and Ears of the Army,” examines the U.S. Army’s nerve center of communication: The Signal Corps. Even in the 1950s, the Signal Corps developed and utilized the most advanced communication technology in order to influence and monitor the “modern battlefield.”

I love these old films. American propaganda back in the day used to have genuine educational value. It's really sad that this quality of propaganda has been lost.

One EMP and it would all have been lost, apart from hard land lines.

Even then the land lines would be down for a number of reasons. Firstly the land line will eventually connect to something electronic be it an amplifier or a switch. Secondly what is a wire strung in the air? An antenna. While it might not be tuned exactly it’s still and antenna channeling an EMP to electronics. Think back to the 1859 Carrington Event when sunspots sent basically EMPs throughout the world. The activity was so strong telegraph stations were hit hard.

If that Captain saw what Democrats have done to the uniformed services he’d roll over in his grave.

And if you dig up an older corpse the lack of segregation would make them writhe in their graves. Maybe we shouldn't use 70+ year old attitudes to guide us today.

@@joqqeman Only Democrats opposed integration within the armed forces. Democrat Woodrow Wilson rigidly enforced segregation after he played a KKK film in the White House.
