Is it just me who felt that Mr. Mishra (in first half) instead of answering what is being asked, just glorified current govt's policy. For him questions seem to be irrelevant, he already had prepared answers xD

there's nothing wrong in it, I mean they are government employee they have to put govt.perspective on the table like what kind initiative has been taken from govt.side to tackle those challanges..besides there's other panelists are there to make constructive approches which yet to be taken by govt....

best thing said by Sudhir Krishna at 15:43 that there should not be amalgamation of small towns/villages to large cities. But there should be a interconnection through better transport. By adjoining them,we do harm to farming, forests and primary sector vanishes as happened in NCR

That's what they are meant to do. What sort of a stupid question is that? If someone's asking something regarding what your department is concerned with, it's a natural corollary that you have to answer it with the steps that has been taken to improve or tackle the issue. There's no such thing as propaganda here. Its something called doing your job!!

Indian cities housing around 45% of the population of our country is expected to be the fastest growing cities in the world according to the Oxford Economics Report. The challenges lying ahead are: - Creating employment opportunities for the huge population growth in the cities. - Create proper housing for the people who will migrate to the cities. If we solve these challenges, Indian cities being the growth engines of our country will be able to take the pressure off the disguised unemployment in agriculture sector in rural areas. For solving these problems, we need good governance in cities through municipalities. - Laying of roads, proper housing, water supply, electricity supply and waste management has to be done effectively by the municipality bodies rather than special purpose vehicles. - Proper connectivity of the small towns, medium towns and bigger cities is required to nurture the habitat themselves. - Diversifying of city growth is required to avoid over population in certain cities especially coastal areas to avoid climate change and progress towards sustainable development. - Pollution which is a huge problem in the cities in the recent years have to be solved by creating renewable energy resource based industries for development.

Inspite of all missions & growth of public transport Real Estate remains unorganized Something needs to be done here The poor migrating to cities are living miserably in slums, thus the pressure on health, standard of living, environment & ultimately Govt. Resources Its high time the States especially Northern and people in governance hierarchy take responsibility of inclusive growth & focus more on Agriculture and farmers Inspite of diverting youth and changing names.

Abhishek Singh Mr.Singh I think RERA is doing a wonderful job there, to be honest i think the biggest problem we have in the Urban Development is of Governance and taking the support of local administration so that there can be a holistic development and talking about farmers , well things are being done but in the meantime we cannot just ignore the growth of Urban Cities till agriculture sector takes place, there should be a diversified growth

Cities grow faster in world by 2035 Oxford study Surat fastest growing India Not urbanized enough Fragmented land holding - migrate to city Feed country Migrants to city Growth projected 40% 2040 and 50 to 2050 People in search of quality life Smart city atal rejuvenate mission livelihood mission aawaz mission swachh Bharat Ease of doing business- gone up to 77 Ease of living index- improving fastly Top 10 all are from India Metros Infrastructure need? Need to work especially Urban infra Housing for migrate Employability - shift from Agri to service - for city to receive these population - need infra Need a revisit Cautious? Numbers are subjective to variation World turn to South East Asia All city from Western coast no city from East Kolkata fall India 31% Urban Project to 50%soon Step to take? Utter Pradesh 21% urbanization- large villages - associated cities- if urbanized- number go up very high Larger city growth low growth in population compare to small towns- need attention Need connectivity to small and big town - not amalgamation Need nurture programme for medium and small towns Employment? Credit facility Housing facility through awaz Skill India mission National livelihood mission Growth is not uniform- still need to wait for this top city to grow and learn from this to grow small City A better regional planning need Population wise Delhi is in third Growth is distribution of population - better distribution of wealth Government role not to select growing city- to keep a balance and plan Coastal city are prone to climate change Need decentralization - admn improved( no need of infra )- Urban design - regional planning Top most polluted city also indias- growth model questioned? Migration is in search of livelhood - so no uniformity- need political governance- who rule city? Mayor or cm confusion still remain What model to follow Asian or India development model Conclusion Strength local government Distribution of resources equally for making all city smart Urban planning key challenge - need plan together Land and water - are we prepared or not - chaos planning now - need correction- failure of governance Can't planning from first all are made so need to do from here no virgin city

it sounds good but environment and agriculture should be taken care of...becoz if you urbanize ourself then we need to put pressure on limited resources we have and urbanization can reduce labour force in agriculture (though disguise inflation )...that means we have to modernize our agriculture to ensure food security as well.....in short we have to consider all parameters..for that political, governance will should be there,,,

The influx of people in Cities do not auger well from humanity in future.THre must be a balance.I(ndia can be agricuktural super power than a Military super power.Fertile river valleys with olenty fresh water & Sun power can generate enough food to feed the wholw world..The villages centres must have essential amenities for a decent living. Secondly we need a Good Shelter,Health,Education,Transport & integration nationwide for our civilisation to survive in next millinium. JRB

The first class cities are witnessing growth rate of population much lesser in comparison to the fifths Nd sixth class ,as mentioned Upto 200 percent, what prohibits the growth in first class, first people migrating not able to cope up with living standards,if persists then putting blood sweat ,second employability mostly labourers migrate ,so they need to have better commitment from state government under employment under migration act, like getting registered with welfare boards of construction developers ,and getting all benefits as in the law that will certainly sort out slums poor condition, third clear cut jurisdiction authorisation ,mostly issues get stuck due to blame game ,and finally winning the election by quoting on political discourse, like pollution in Delhi, ngt ,cpcb, epca, spcb, union territories categorisation, fourth ,diversified definition urban planning such that villages getting accommodated to towns get developed at their respective places instead of displacement ,like extension of metros near NCT,that will further generate employability ,via diversification in livelihood ,lastly report mentions Indian cities will be fastest growing cities what sort of fastest growing cities means if not able to cope with the sustainability, most of the governance frame work come under state subject if govt intencivize something state need to prioritize that and maintaining the infrastructure created,
