There is a book I have called "Flowers in the Dustbin". And it is basically a comprehensive yet informal history of rock and roll, from like 1950ish to 1975ish. (Super early blues and then from elvis/buddy holly to the beatles and david bowie. And 1 dozen++ other artists) There is one part in the book that explicitly explains how the jamaican dance hall and ska scene was viscerally linked into the UK as a function of record shops and how vinyl was pressed. Ren and friends either marinated in music history and do something effortlessly...or they know exactly what they are doing. Or maybe both.

Just listened again, it’s easy to forget the rhythm section is the foundation of everything. The drummer is superb, so many tempo changes but he is solid as a rock. Picks up perfectly. feel exactly like this. its food for the soul. and transends above the day to day humdrum into a higher space. its why brings a tear to my eyes aswell as its so elevated the spiritual expression of music at this level that can give a massive contrast to your own life, if going through normal stresses and strains that can cause outburst of emotion. as reminds us that we should be experiencing this state ourselves in our own lives, and not just a short burst through a beatuiful set like this, which gives us a temporary escape into a higher portal. need to make like itself day in day out the higher portal. and its the plane these guys are in in this band, look at lead singers face at start or guitarist on solo - they are tapped into source. whats sad is even most musicians with life struggles, bills to pay etc dont get to tap into pure source often either

That's bc most people are just followers and can't appreciate raw talent like this if it wasn't backed by some big fancy production. There was an experiment where a casually dressed, world class violinist played an intricate piece in the subway and folks carried on and passed by without a second glance. The next night he played for a packed audience at a fancy venue where tickets cost a few hundred easy.

It seems like my age group of 55 have fallen for this band and ren on his own and rapping is the best at taking you to a place where he is so good at painting a picture and telling the story. I have also cried listening to hi ren and how he gets the crowd reved up and making it feel like he is playing a area. Thank you ren for never giving up on your journey. I also have mental health issues and in active addiction and for the last 35 years I've only ever had 3 to 4 years clean if you add up the add months when life was to much for me and ended up back in a place where I no what is coming next but now I've found your music I can get a hour or two when I don't have to do or think about what shit is going to happen and I'm sure that other people feel like me cos I've shown a few people in my age group and they are all asking me to find more of your work and when I tell them about your struggled in life they say that they warm to you more. Please put as much music out in to the world for us to use as a Xscape from our lives. O yeah. You should run for Prime Minister lol

I Can't stop listening to this,the guitar work is spot on.The scratch guitar Ren puts in is brilliant..Some covers may leave this out,but this is pure,from the soul of all in the band....this tune is a perfect route into The Big Push.... and ,,well Rens tunes are an experience to blow your mind,,there is no one that even comes close to Ren .Well thats what i think 🎉
