It's not exactly accurate to say that it's imaginary. Do some research. The nine dash line claim started in 1947. The UNCLOS came out in the 1980's. Im sure my country started with the diplomatic approach giving importance to dialogue. Then come 1999 with limited resources my government managed to deliberately ground a WWII ship BRP Sierra Madre to establish our presence there. It is our EEZ. That old tearing ship is what our coast guard religiously ressuplies that aggressor china keeps on bullying.
