This is the happiest saddest day so far in the Chateau. Last floor is going in and almost completed. WOW!!! Congratulations Team Chateau! All the beams you have set in place look straight and secured. The brickwork looks amazing Dan. Soon framing for the roof. It is so rewarding watching this Chateau coming together. Breathing life back into the building. It is starting to look like a Chateau again and not just walls. What a view!!!
@denisevincent40507 ай бұрын
Not really the last floor yet, right? The tower and the turret both have a few levels (never mind access stairs), some of the bathrooms need joists and the cellar has a dirt floor in one room (where the previous owned hoped to place an indoor pool). Dan has the official plans, but utility lines might need to be revised before the last joists go in. Even when all the joists are in, the windows and doors need to make a watertight shell before the utilities are run and the 'good' subfloor will replace the temporary lower grade OSB. And then the radiant heat can be installed, tile laid and baseboards installed. Apologies, my inner project manager never stops working.

What I really love: I started watching this as a 'daily show' about 3 month ago. And than, I started to watch the whole playlist, beginning with the first visit at the chateau - I'm not finished at all! So I do have the daily update and the comparison to the old videos. It's such a joy to see both next to each other. I can and would reccmend to everybody comming new into the middle of the current process of this renovation, to switch to the first video! Everything in the old videos makes so much more sense, when seeing the newer ones. And vise verce: It adds depth to the newer videos, knowing about the work that lead to the latest progress. So it would not be wrong, to tell the (new) audience from time to time, that there is this playlist. I'm sure there are still new viewers, that got recomended a new video by youtube - because I'm one of them.

I suppose we all have our own likes about Dan’s channel. My husband was a builder all his life and it was always magical for me to see him take an empty lot and build a beautiful home or take a rundown job and turn it into a beautiful place to live. I just happened upon his channel right from the beginning and seeing that young man spend hours after hour digging trash out of the basement with only a shovel and wheel barrow and you had to admire his stamina and I just had to keep watching wondering how long it would take him before he gave up and praying he would not. The big highlight was when his friend “orange pants” would come and help and they would get a room completed . It is so much easier on him now with his channel has grown and he can afford to have helpers an tools and he is still filled with the wonder of restoring this old castle back to its former glory. That’s what keeps us all riveted and just filled with this same enthusiasm to see this magnificent castle once again a beautiful completed building. Hurrah for you Dan…I am sure there is nothing much that can keep you from pushing on until it’s finished. One more thing I want to say to the ladies who are watching please keep on with your lovely sexy remarks but PLEASE if you are elderly don’t tell him your age. Let him think there are a bevy of beautiful young things that are grooving on them. I raised two very sweet and loving males and just the thought of old ladies with those kind of thoughts is painful. Bless you Dan for a job well done.👏

Up there now in the midst of all that damage. Can't wait to see how you deal with it all. Makes me want to be there as it is done but will have to content myself in following this great project from afar.

Bonjour, You are moving forward really fast, that is obvious and I admire this pugnacity. As for the shots from the top of your building, I cannot watch them, I suffer from severe vertigo and as soon as a sequence presents itself in this way, I immediately zap. This does not prevent me from impatiently awaiting the evolution of this construction. La France est un beau pays et j'y suis né
