Wow! love the comment” The adventure is the trophy.” I have never killed anything even close that buck but have had some great adventures.

It takes patience, skill, physical conditioning , dedication, determination, and a relentless desire of adventure to make this kinda thing happen, 99.7% of all hunters lack one or the other myself Included in that, GOOD JOB 👍

People who've never done it, will never understand what it means. Bow hunting mule deer is one of the hardest things I have ever done, but I love it more than everything, other than God and my family. "The adventure IS the trophy"...I love that line! That deer gets to live forever in your home.

Ditto on the “Wow! Love the comment!” Well said. I not only love the passion you have for bow hunting, but also the respect you have for nature. Wishing you more awesome hunts. Take care.🦌

Man, I’ve been staring at that deer for years now on the cover and in the pages of Western Hunter. That deer and that issue lit a fire in me to chase mule deer with my bow in the backcountry. I haven’t been the same since, and it’s a good thing. Thanks Justin for the inspiration and the awesome story. You’re a legend.

Impressive animal !!! The time and dedication to training, the money spent on clothing, gear,and hard work makes this special I'm sure. It would let the anti trophy hunters know, you're a special kind of athlete. And ask 'em what they do.

Earned. Honestly if I shot a 200 inch deer getting lucky or because I had $150k like some of these fat rich guys wouldn’t respect it as much as what your story depicts. Congrats

Nice buck..... but these aren't "natural" bucks, are they? Aren't they bred a certain way to increase antler size, weight, etc?
@bobtosi93463 ай бұрын
Seriously? No one is breeding these animals. It’s just a natural abnormality. A genetic mutation. 🤦🏻♂️
@hoytarcheryofficial3 ай бұрын
Actually this buck is natural, as you say. It lived on public land, up in the high country far away from cities or even trails. No "selective breeding" or anything. Just mother nature showing its beauty. Justin just put in the work, the stars aligned, and he came out with a world record buck.

Until you hunt for your own food you will never understand. It's not about the kill. It's the thrill of the chase, the comradere, the fresh air, the being one with nature and the taste and smell of fresh deer steaks on the grill.
