Despitw what people say, this game did well. The character stuff it is missing, I think, is simply because Seán didn't play it the way to get he good ending. If you don't turn the three against each other, then you can get the good ending where you beat/kill the Rippleman

Anyways my point is that she didn't wanna be with him so he stayed on Spark and tried to get a different girl OR The Simulacra Possessed him like in Seàn's ending and it tried to get Mina too. This game was good but it doesn’t surpass the first one. Personally, the acting was not that good. Maya’s “creepy voice” in the webcam footage was more so just odd and not actually scary. The characters were okay, but the developers should have had a balance of good and bad traits with each of them (even Maya herself). The detective was a bit too dramatic with the dialogue. The glitch stuff was kinda “ehhh”. The Rex cringe was funny, and the good ending route is good, too. I also thing there should be a little more difficulty with defeating the “Rippleman”. In the words of Greg Summers himself: “FUUUUCK ITTT SO MUUUUUUUCH”

It really has to do with character connection I think. These three are suspects from the start so you don't have that banding together like you get with Greg and Taylor despite their flaws. The setup is better with the criminal investigation and program to reconstruct files but in the end the adverserial position undercuts the character connection that made Simulacra work.

I wasn’t as invested in this one as the first one. I guess I liked the fact that the first one was just a random person that went missing(that people care about)instead of just some asshole influencers that nobody cares about. ( The creepy factor is also lost when you use the same idea for the simulacra.)

The whole point of the Simulacra as a being is that it goes after influencers, or, like in the first game, people with a high media following. That's why, when it was being James Aulner, it went after the "Jabbr star" KeepingItCassy, and she didn't fall for it, so "he" moved on and found his next victim, who you end up having to save. She had a fairly high Jabbr following as well. SO, now, they're just aiming the Simulacra being at "social media influencers" instead. Since they have high followings (even though they're all damn fake as hell or lying bout of their asses to get the fame they all want). They make perfect targets for this incarnation of the Similacra creature because they'd do damn near *anything* to get and stay famous, even making a technical "deal with the devil" to do it.

One of the things I noticed that in the play through from all the simulacra games (both 1 and 2), it's that you're likelyhood of reaching a good/bad ending ties to how much you care about the characters. But the characters are purposefully flawed if not horrible people, so it makes it much more likely for you to be critical and negative of the characters rather than sympathetic.

Honestly I felt the first one was more intense with how everything came together and how the simulacra didn't have deals to take it was more of it would take over the victim more or less because of their decisions. After watching this one and comparing all the situations and how they acted and deals made makes me wonder about the first game how exactly or what exactly caused the simulacra to work it's business if I remember correctly I don't remember Anna taking any deal? Wasn't it based on the decisions the characters made for themselves or for their wants and desires? I might've forgotten what the simulacra said in the first one that explains why it was doing what it did I'll have to rewatch it, Oh and just one more thing Jack I just wanted to say I appreciate your honesty given over all of the episodes definitely lots to take from those and also applying those words to the game like for Mina about making that trauma a brand about Erica I definitely agreed with the part you said "yes that is traumatic to witness that when it happens" seeing it for what it was definitely shined a new light to see through Mina's character but also educating others to understand that you shouldn't take others trauma and try to make it your own so when you were explaining that bit it definitely made me see how far Mina was willing to take that and run with it in the game to see just how far words wouldve been turned just to get that affection and that game she desperately wanted I honestly probably would've chosed Mina if I didn't watch this but with your insight on all of them showed there's more to it just what we can see

If the Taylor dying ending is canon, then all simulacras target high follower ppl with different methods. Taylor goes through online dating route, failed with Maya. Rippleman targets by selling signal boosters to suck them in, makes deals so he can claim some and get others to spread it.

so basically this story is about clout chasers, people desperate for fame and people that can't handle hate. this game is actually pretty relevant, it reflects our real-life problems and things happening all around us. this game is also presented in an interesting way, which makes it more fun to play. this game also includes real modern-life things, like social media apps and sponsorships. this game is really well developed (except for the cringe acting LMFAO) and we need more games like this. i also like how deep jack was being all throughout the video, really makes me think about the game more seriously, bringing a whole new meaning to it. thanks, jack for another fantastic video! love you and your videos.

Since I don’t see anything about the Good Ending, here’s how I got it. When you confront them individually, keep the responses mostly 🌞 (Jack seemed to have gotten mostly ⛈) & without pointing fingers, you get the group to grab items to perform a ritual. Rex beaks into the police department to get a jammer, Ayra gets into Maya’s locker for a ‘totem’ (an old phone), and Mina gets you to talk with Ruben to get the app to delete their accounts. You talk to the chief just before the ritual to get the police sent to the sight. I didn’t tell the group about the police (not sure if it would have given a different ending), but they do the ritual, you confront TRM, do some okay mini games to delete their accounts (if you fail you see the group’s faces do the rippy thing & the game lets you try again), & then you hear the chief telling you that you did it and the kids are okay. After the credits you see the group take a new group photo in memory of Maya. Edit: Holy shit. Did not expect to get 300+ likes. Tk! 💖 2-years later edit: Than you random lovely people for the +4K likes. I hope you're all doing okay.

Have it still be someone who happened to find another person's phone (or even a private investigator looking into it) and save the police department bit for a future game. I'm going to go on a limb here and actually say I think the acting was okay for this game, and the actors did about as well as they could for the parts they were given. I think what trips this one up a little is that the characters are a little too...on the nose. The game wanted to make a statement about reality/online reality amongst influencers, and that's great. Good for them for bringing up these talking points about it. However, the characters are just a little two-dimensional and intended to fit this two-faced image they wanted for each character so as to make us not really like them as people. I feel like they needed a little more depth to make them both likeable and unlikeable at the same time. They needed to make the characters just a little more true to life as people with their imperfections to sell this idea better. That's just my two cents. I think the actors did better at portraying what they were given than the first game. I feel like in the first game, the characters were well-written (as they could be for this new genre of horror game), but the actors couldn't really nail the right tones and intonations into them. This sequel felt like the opposite problem. Actors did fine with what they were given, but what they were given was only so-so. The other problem I have with this game is that the biggest point of the first Simulacra was about how you the player were also being a simulacra in conjunction with the actual simulacra. Aside from your conversations with Greg and Taylor, you were mostly faking your identity with everyone else in the game. You were pretending to be Anna in most situations to get more information. The simulacra even points this out to you, saying how you and it are not so different, pointing out that you might actually have even more powerful persuasion and influence over the "worms" than it (depending on the ending). The point was that being "genuine" was relative. If you faked being Anna this whole game, what made you a better person than the simulacra? In the sequel, there's really none of that. You pretty much give yourself away as a detective/journalist throughout the entire game because everyone already knows that Maya is dead. There's no element of deception/imitation in this game to hit the same point across. I feel like when the game was missing that, it was missing some of the point of being a Simulacra game. That being said, I do think this team is very good at making these kinds of games. They're unique and interesting in terms of gameplay and presentation. I love that. I think they do an excellent job at being cheeky and symbolic in how they copy real-world apps. I think they are good at foreshadowing some of the key plot points (aka Maya getting the TRM post indicates she took the deal all along). It's still a new format of game, and I think it'll take some work to really get this "found-footage"/modern tech form of video game thing down. There are other developers trying it in different forms, so it'll get there eventually.

I watched the whole series (Sara is missing, simulacra 1, simulacra pipe dreams, and simulacra 2) and that took a lotta courage, I'm not used to watching horror games and I get scared very easily but this was really fun, even more so that jack played it, he really has a way of making it better and funny, even teaching stuff along the way, I really liked simulacra 1 (better than this one) and it gave me the real spooks. if the developers ever realize another game to the series, I'll definitely look forward to it and watch it as it is new, not a year later (like this one :v)
