This fest marks the oficial end of x mas in PR🎉 Saint sebastian was a martyr of the catholic church, he was sentence to death by the romans for not renouncing cristianity. He was tied to a poll and shot arrows at him. He survived but was later clubed to death around 32 years old😢

@@lizburgos5134 they only let official vehicles past the bridges. The municipality rents buses throughout the island so that they have enough to transport everyone to and from the old city. Those buses are continuously picking people up in Santurce at the train station and dropping them off in Old San Juan and escorted by police. If they don’t do that it’s complete chaos.

Hello Phillip, I'm glad you attended one of the major festivals in Puerto Rico (Festival de la Calle San Sebastian.) Once again, doing research is extremely important when covering events. I know you're not a journalist or a historian, but there is a level of responsibility when delivering information to what can be an international audience. You didn't speak on the history of the festival when and why it started. It is not accurate that this year was the first year back for this festival there was one 2023, 2024. This year (2025 ) was the 55 anniversary of the event. The event was postponed 2021 & 2022. due to the pandemic. Winging your episodes when covering historical important events to Puerto Ricans isn't Kool. Also, being under the influence of something as you alluded to at the beginning of the video can give the impression that you do not respect your job or the subscribers that consume your content. By choice you are a public person and with that comes a level of responsibility and accountability. I still believe you have great potential as I have said in the past and just would like for you to present more well developed, polished episodes. My comments are not to cut you down, but to lift you up. Blessings to you and get to the 5K by the summer of 2025.

Yes Tony, I have been corrected on the misinformation. I understand your position. Hopefully you can understand mine. I’m not looking to be perfect, nor have all the information correct. Do I try my best to, yes … but I’m going to get things wrong. No different than when major news outlets do all their supposed due diligence, and still have it wrong. Trust me, I KNOW this happens, because I used to work for a television station. You must also understand that what YOU PERSONALLY may want from an episode may not be what everyone else is looking for. Everyone has a different palette for content. There’s a spectrum. For example, yes there are some who would want to know the history. And I try my best there. But there are also others who would just like to see how much fun they would have at the festival and aren’t focused on that. My overall goal is to show someone TRYING & also showing GROWTH. Again, I know I’m not perfect … but I believe my following understands that and respects the fact that I’m trying to show Puerto Rico REAL love … more than anyone else that’s moved here recently (from my knowledge) … and show my GROWTH along the way. I know my information now, although not perfect, is WAY better than when I started. And that’s the goal. I’m not a historian or a journalist as you said. So Im not going to live up to that standard. But what I will do, is show as much as I can out of a place of REAL love, and hopefully it resonates with those that understand I’m doing my best.

@@tonyg1468 I have offered help as a consultant both in tourism and Spanish. In Spanish the accent on Sebastián is on the last a and the accent is right there even. We appreciate the information but pronouncing the name of the saint in English when you are saying the rest in Spanish hurts our ears.

@@trilleats I follow you but one can always do better. I’m a tour guide and I’ve been in tourism all my life having worked for two major airlines. I have offered my help and I still do. It’s better to give correct information if you are going to do a video. People may correct but others will just repeat incorrect info and believe it and I don’t think that’s what you want to convey. One thing Anglos don’t take advantage of in Spanish is realizing that once you grasp the idea that vowels in Spanish only have one sound and it’s always that same sound you have 25% of the language mastered. For example Jorge is not Jorgei, it’s e like in bed. If you catch yourself pronouncing a vowel in Spanish and two vowels sounds come out you are saying it wrong. Simplify your life learning this if you are going to live here. And listen to what Bad Bunny is saying. If it’s good for us to learn two languages it’s good for the rest of the world.
