I'm in Missouri and been catching trout with a foam cicadas for about two weeks and we haven't got into the full hatch. It's been amazing and exciting thus far.

I live a few miles from Montauk state park. Cicada flies seem to be working well in the park right now. I think it will be off the charts in a couple more weeks.

Thank you for the timely piece on Cicadas. And what a coinkadink! We too will be on the White in late-June/early-July! I spoke to our guide a few weeks ago, and they heavily recommended having a Cicada patterns. I have tied up a few, but I believe I will be giving you a call for some Project Cicadas!

Here in Alabama, as of 5/15/24 we had a huge hatch already. The cicadas were so loud we could hear them over the trains passing bye

Here in SC, the cicadas have moved on. There were tons of them here for about 4-5 weeks. Didn’t get to fish them, but I sure hope others get to!

The two cicada cycles are 13 and 17 years. 13x17=221. The double cicada brood happens every 221 years.
