The thing with Mark is that the name "invincible" is two fold. Firstly it isn't his body that's invincible, it's his spirit and will. It's why he doesn't stop protecting earth. Secondly, the difference between what you first think of when you hear his name and his combat ability is meant as a joke which is why in the first season the title screen get bloodier and bloodier. A teenager who thinks he'll just slap away any problems unscathed, like his dad, picked a name showing he though that. Then he gets the painful lesson that it's much harder than it looks and his dad is much stronger than he thought.

Correction, Sukuna NEVER claims he is the strongest. Sukuna isn't even his real name, it is a title others gave him just like the King of Curses is. It's an important distinction because characters like Gojo call themselves "the honored one" when the only character to be given that title by the narrator is Sukuna. It is one of Sukuna's interesting traits that he will absolutely kill anyone who challenges him - or who he believes is worth fighting - but he doesn't give a shit about titles. I do completely agree with Gojo not being fraudulent though.

Reggie told Megumi that all jujutsu sorcerers are are con men and Sukuna got the better of Gojo in that way. Sukuna could have easily transformed and then used the slash on a completely unaware Gojo. Sukuna using the binding vow in hindsight was a mistake, but he was spooked by Gojo, wanted to conserve the full heal, and saw an opportunity so he pulled the trigger. He definitely could have won without the binding vow either with his domain in his true form or via the above method.
