Idea for a new gamemode based on this one Maybe it would be possible for a team to have a randomly chosen "spy" that has to give false information to help the other team. Each team would have one and only once during the game (or at the end of each round depending on how you want to play), you can decide to vote for someone in the team that you think is the spy. Getting it right will make the spy switch sides to yours for the rest of the game. (Some strategies can be elaborated for spies like giving good info for 1 or 2 rounds and then giving only fake info to stall way longer) The spy of the opposing team is known and can possibly help you (or not if found out by his team mates) by leading you to the others

I'm having a hard time picturing this. If spectator mode is allowed, the spy is screwed because all of their lies can be instantly disproven by any dead teammate. And if spectator mode isn't allowed, the spy is pointless because they have zero intel and wouldn't even know what to lie about.

@@actuallyalias The spy most likely gains time when searching and not killing others so allowing spectator only for alive teammates as a hider is good enough. Even then, the other team knowing who the spy is, it won't matter to them when they spec if the spy gives false info
