The Biggest Issue With the SanDisk UHS-II

Quite frankly this card Sandisk Extreme Pro UHS-II card is just disappointing. I have tested 2 different cards and replicated the issues. When purchasing this V90 SD card, the expectation is based on the marketing it comes with. The SanDisk UHS-II card falls short at best both in speed and reliability.
In this video I review the SanDisk Extreme Pro UHS-II V90 SD card and give you my opinion on why or why not you should buy it.
** issue with the second image. It shows UHS-II but should be the USH-I. I do say UHS-I but the image still shows UHS-II and needed to clarify.

There is an error in the video. @5:02 where the image is showing 175MB/s UHS-II. It should show UHS-I. If you guys think I should re-upload please let me know

I would go for the ProGrade card just because its cheaper… But there is 0 difference in my Fujifilm with 50-60MB RAW Files to the SanDisk Extreme Pro 300. Can’t find one in the time for the buffer to clear nor in writing or copying speed on computer (maybe 5-10% max). But cheaper is always better :)

why are you even shooting jpg on a high end camera? lol

I shoot in JPEG+RAW, because JPEGs are much faster to scroll through with various programs. When you found the right JPEG, you can work on the RAW.

I’m so sorry, but I am so lost with the message. What is wrong with the Sandisk on the R6 and EOS R?

The idea is the recovery of the buffer and how slow it works with jpg's. It takes over 20 seconds to empty the buffer on the R6. The R isn't bad. When you compare the two Sandisk cards UHS II vs UHS I you get roughly the same which makes no sense. The UHS-II should be performing better. In contrast the Prograde does it in 7 seconds. That being said, I just saw the video again and both slides show uhs-II which is an error. I might upload this video again or make a note in the description.

@@royaltykidstv Ah cool. You are in the best part the journey. When you are using any camera there will be a temporary storage that holds the images as they transfer to an SD card. This is the the reference to the buffer. So on your camera it will show how much the buffer will be able to hold based on the settings and expectation of the transfer speed on the card you have. When you press and hold to take pictures the camera will start pushing images to the card and based on how fast the card is on the transfer it will store the images on the buffer in a queue like fashion. When the buffer fills it wont' allow you take any more pictures until there is room. Emptying the buffer is what I am measuring in the video. So waiting for it to empty to fill it again. The camera will show you buy the number counting up again. So it goes to zero when it is filling and back up when it empties or recovers.

@@NikosRentas ok I understand better now. Let’s say I buy both of them, I should be fine while using them on the R6 and EOS R right? Meaning I won’t mess up the images with either card?

@@royaltykidstv You are fine using either one with terms of quality and reliability. This is a speed issue and in the EOS R you won't notice it as much as the R6 or R5. If you use both the Sandisk and the Prograde in the R6 you will be bottlenecked with speed to that of the sandisk.
