I just watched her debut and yeah, her nerves got the better of her when she started singing. However, as the song continued she actually managed to recover during the middle parts of it. I thought I was going to watch out-of-pitch galore but it really wasn't that bad and I'm impressed that she powered through that. But OMG! She was 14! With just a YEAR of training, who wouldn't be intimidated in that stage. She just needed to cook a little bit more before that debut stage.

People say Ori was outshined by IU but from what I remember IU herself was largely ignored until she switched tactics and released cutesy songs like Boo and Marshmallow--a shame because Mia was an amazing song and unique to the Korean music scene. Society was, and still is, very cruel to debuting artists from smaller companies. If I recall correctly, IU admitted she was actually booed at from the crowd which had to be edited out of her performance audios. I guess it's a bit of a tangent, I just don't think it's accurate that people were comparing her with Ori the way they do today retrospectively. The fact is, both girls were hated and more or less ignored by the world...

This video didn't mention any dates, other than that of the debut performance, so it was difficult to understand the timeframe of the events. Did all the bad continue days, months or even years after that performance? Minah from Girl's Day debuted one and a half years after Ori's performance, and even she was affected by rumours of her being Ori? Did the rumours about Ori continue for that long? Wasn't Ori already booked to perform on other stages when she performed the first time? So she just cancelled it all immediately after the backlash hit after that first stage? Did she quit the very next day, or did she wait a week or a few while reading the negative comments ,while also ignoring her other performance commitments, before quitting the industry? Her company didn't try to do any positive PR? When did the company disappear? Where does the quote from Ori come from, the one about her working at an airport? Who is the "some sources"? She must have talked to someone to give that quote.
