I wish I could have stuck around to witness this first hand. That is a big chunk of wood, and there is more where that came from. You really need a bigger trailer with full size wheels and tires, but that design has proven itself.

That can not have been a fun drive, but excellent to get a piece like that back home!

How incredible!!!! My heart is still pounding! Amazing how the arch handled that. Great build and ingenuity!

get a winch remote...or wire it out away from the danger zone...a broken cable could be destructive

As always a mix of brilliance, fearless and a dash of crazy. Love the videos. The fact that your crane construction didn't break is a testament to the way you build things.

Maybe next time strap the log to a big tree and drive forward to pull it off trailer
@WyldeWoodworks Жыл бұрын
The problem with just driving off is the wheels will spin and create a rut but if I use the winch then worst case scenario it drags the truck across the lawn. Does that make sense? That log was way heavier than anything I should have been picking up lol

Grew up building docks having to manhandle 18' wood pilings regularly, it'll put some hair on your chest, but it ain't all that fun. Side note, when you're winching your twigs at full tension, you'd be a smart man to use something as a shield in case that cable snaps, eyes and limbs, brother. God bless you.

Good idea. I was thinking of a 1/2” metal plate like box. Then I thought,Maybe use a REMOTE switch for the winch and stand in front of the truck

Oh, man! So sorry that happened to you, but I'm glad it held together long enough for you to get the log off. Can you imagine if the trailer failed in route?
@WyldeWoodworks2 жыл бұрын
I imagined that the whole way home😅

Taking risks with your own safety to make a buck or two is one thing. It does not appear your equipment is suitable to handle your loads, it’s only a matter of time until catastrophe strikes. I sincerely hope you or anyone else will not be hurt or worse. This video would be a slam dunk for a manslaughter conviction in the event you kill someone during your travels.

What sort of bait did you use to catch it? 🤣 I was actually feeling sorry for your poor trailer, but it did the job. 👍 Did you tell us in the other video what the straps are rated at? Hope you realize that you're going to have to make an entire series about your adventures with that beast. You can call it, "A Man and his Log". Looking forward to seeing not only how you mill it,, but the trailer upgrades an if you pull more wood from that spot.

I Don't remember the weight limit for the straps😂 Seems like a lot. I'm still looking into options for the trailer upgrade/repair

You make mistakes. You think about it and try again. Then you learn and don't do it the same way again. I the end, it doesn't mater how you do it as long as you do it. In the end, I think you did a good job so not fix your trailer and get back to it
