That bridge is also one of the most talked about in the world due to the fact that geographical constraints meant no regular bridge would be able to do it so they had to come up with some spectacular workarounds and innovations to create it.

• Voted Most Efficient Airport in the World 19 consecutive years; • World's Busiest Airport since 1999 (except 2020), 110.9 million pax in 2019; • 195 gates; • Free Wifi 6/6E throughout terminal; • Up to 250 takeoffs & landings per hour, total of 2,700 per day; • 67,000 employees; • 32 miles of underground fuel pipeline to bring JP4 to the jets; • 32 miles of underground baggage conveyors; • 6 miles of underground people movers, running 1 minute apart; • 5 runways, including the north pair with an "end-around" taxiway (Taxiway Victor); • Second "end-around" taxiway under construction as part of $8 billion expansion; • New $6 million Museum of Civil Rights on airside; • New Hank Aaron Terminal to house Southwest's new hub south of 5th runway budgeted; • New 6th runway planned, pending land acquisition and budgeting; • Home of the world's largest airline which has one of the best on-time rates; • Maintenance "Tech Ops" for Delta Airlines is over a mile long, 2½ million spare parts stocked; • Over 1,000 flights a day to 225 domestic and international destinations; • 75 international destinations in 50 countries; • 20 minute subway ride to Downtown, trains depart every 8 minutes; • Home of one of the 10 Best Airport Restaurants in the World, per Condé Nast Traveler (Varasano's Pizzeria). Search KZbin for "Behind The Scenes Of The World's Busiest Airport" and you'll quickly discover why all of those "amenities" you see at the East Asian airports aren't needed when you are literally moving nonstop to your connecting flight which is already boarding. Unlike other North American airports which keep adding terminals in a scattershot way, Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson started from a clean sheet when they opened the Midfield Terminal in May 1980, and beginning demolition of old terminal a week later (I saw it the demolition in progress 2 weeks after the Midfield Terminal opened). Originally opening with 4½ coucourses, it was designed from the start for expansion. Watch the "Behind The Scenes Of The World's Busiest Airport" video: I've been following its progress for over 40 years, and even *I* learned things I didn't know about this engineering marvel… And you'll see why ATL belongs at the top of the list.
