This was the best coverage/recap/thoughts on this truly BLOCKBUSTER trade. Well done sirs!

Another insider mentioned the draft pick they got back may mean something bigger later. Similar to how STL traded for theirs back last year and used for the Edmonton players.

That’s Coach Carbs bringing them together! #JACKADAMS 💯 CAPS fan, we’d never be here now last year. Goalie thing- my thing is this - I don’t trust anyone besides Charlie to back up LT! ….also, no doubt LT could win a cup. Next…. Lock up Chychrun!

I think the popular theory that he will want to come back to the avs at a team discount (probably similar to mackinnon deal) even with the cap increase in order to aquire Neces as a cherry on top.

I know he historically isn’t top tier but still crazy to talk Swedish goaltenders for 4 Nations and just ignore Sam Ersson. At the time of this comment, since the Holiday break, Ersson is the top Swedish goalie in the NHL, number 10 in save %, and 8th in GAA in the league for goalies who have played 5 or more games since the Christmas.

Carolina is f***ing-stacked, absolute wagon. R.I.P. Leafs chances at a Stanley Cup final, maybe they reach the conference finals... good luck, the Canes are pushing the poker chips all-in!!

Here’s the reality, it says a lot about a player who chooses to leave his team that drafted and believed in him, put faith in him, put players around him to win and wants to keep him, because $100 million isn’t enough and wants $112 million. Especially when the $100 million gives the team a better chance to win. You can claim “it’s a business” etc, but there’s other teams whose players took abit less to be competitive.

Dude what are talking about? Most Avs insiders say he would have taken less, it was obviously more than 1million a year, and maybe it was other stuff such as the structure of pay/bonuses, trade clauses, or length. As for the money, thats 12%, which is not nothing. He's done his Job, its not like hes all take. Everything you said could also be said for him. He's not beholden to the avs. And even if he did leave(which everyone says he did not request this), do you not think the team would just as quickly chuck him away? The team he bled for? Played hurt risking his career for? The team he put his life on hold and delayed stuff for? The team he has put before his own life? Do you not realize the team would chuck him aside in s heart beat, which they did? The only reality is that it seems as if this was the teams move, but even if it wasnt, just stop. Its his life. His career. He owes, me, you, the avelance, NOTHING! I understand maybe you are a Avs fan and are caught off guard but come on, get real.

Colorado is the winner of the trade. Rantanen will have a tough time.
