Takes a man to tell that fish story. 😂 Thanks for telling us that . Bed fishing for me is feast or famine. Good luck in the next one and the whole year !

Reminds me of Any Given Sunday, Al Pacino had a line of dialogue he delivered. There's always something you don't see coming.

I had a fish once, I think I fished for several summers. Finally I had got skillful enough that it took my lure. Except, I hadn't tied a knot. Dumb. The line separated, and floated on the water. And I pursued this stupid piece of line swimming away from me through a reed bed, up to my chest. Then I snapped back into reality, and waded back to dry land, my own element.

Dude, you need to get a replica made of that crappie. It would be an amazing story to tell in 10 years. It seems like you have moved past this. Your going to win Hartwell since you made this public.

I did something similar. Was just fun fishing and I moved into the back of a mini-pocket and saw a giant bass cruise off a bed. I saw the bed, I thought. Backed up and got set then I fished for it for about a hour and a half, a lot of bites. Downsized and caught it on a neko rigged 3” senko. It was a magnum crappie. I guess the big bass was just swimming past the crappie bed as I trolled up and a magnum white crappie with the deep back looked like a magnum largemouth. Felt dumb too.

Life is all about decisions. At some point do you just do fishing tv as a career and cease tournament fishing? Hard pill to swallow I understand. I bet Hallman is in a better place mentally physically and emotionally by pulling out.
