Honestly, when designing the Chapter 3 map, I think Epic was simply trying to invoke feelings of Chapter 1 within the map, to bring back the OGs who felt isolated during Chapter 2. Chapter 3 had an intentionally positive and welcoming vibe, with season names like Vibin and Paradise, and familiar locations brought back after so long. It truly felt like a celebration of both new and old, and then Chapter 4 busted in and was like "Yeah, party's over."

I personally agree with this theory, epic confirmed that the end event had the zero point rearrange the whole chapter 1 island into the chapter 2 island. And since the chapter 3 and chapter 2 island are somewhat connected, then the chapter 3 island is also the chapter 1 island rearranged. As said, the chapter 1 pois were on both islands.

I think the chapter 1 island was actually split in half creating both chapter 2 and 3 which is why some locations and big structures from chapter 1 appear on chapter 2 and 3 this could also explain why there was an island under chapter 2 and possibly nothing under chapter 1

Personally, I think C1 had a flipside too, the zero point rearranged the map and some POI's. We just never discovered the flipside in C1. This is my theory.

Exactly, the Zero Point after the live event split the Ch 1 Island into two separate Islands and then added New stuff into the mix to make the Ch 2 and Ch 3 Islands. It would also explain why the Ch 3 map is known as the ‘Flipside’. More proof to add to this is by looking at the Ch 2 and 3 Codenames. If you Google “Greek Gods” you’ll see that there’s two gods “Apollo” and “Artemis” and it appears that these names are the exact codenames of the Ch 2 and 3 Island. Furthermore, if you search even deeper: you’ll see that both gods are actually twin siblings, implying that the Ch 2 and 3 maps are twin islands.

Donald Mustard confirmed that the chapter 2 island was just the chapter 1 island rearranged by the zero point. The zero point had created two islands; one above it and one below it for protection on all angles. This is why we see places like Pleasant park, retail row and salty springs on chapter 2, but not on chapter 3. This is also why we do not see anything from chapter 2 on the Chapter 3 map. Instead, it is just all the remaining matter from chapter 1 that we did not see in chapter 2 such as Greasy grove or the volcano. However I do not think that it is the chapter 1 map, but instead both chapter 2 and 3 are the result of the zero point rearranging its matter.

Quick Explanation: Chapter 1 had its matter reorganized at the end of Season X, then we got sent to the other side of the map, being Chapter 2, at the end of Chapter 2, we were sent back to our timeline, where much of the biomes changed due to matter reorganization. however, places like the Racetrack, Tilted, Sunny Steps, the Volcano, Loot Lake, and other items returning, with even the Zero Point in the same area. The rebuilding of the Chapter 3 map was by those who escaped the loop, a goal of Midas.

My personal theory is that there was a map below the chapter 1 map that we’ve never seen, when the Zero Point blew up it reforged these islands into two new ones using pieces from both islands, this is the reason that there’s chapter 1 locations in chapter 2 and some never before seen locations in chapter 3, my other theory is that the chapter 5 map could be the flip side of chapter 1 and that could have some of the locations, but since the event isn’t for like another 12 hours we’ll have to wait and see

The arm is not from the monster winning to the mech, it’s when the monster bit the arm of the mech, and threw it in the water, it’s at the exact same spot of where the monster threw it. And this monster vs mech event was way back at Chapter 1, so most likely we are in the chapter 1 map.

I hope Epic takes advantage of the time travel theme in the story and brings back the old map. I think the best maps were the Seasons 4 and 5 maps. Not only does it fit in with the storyline of the game, but it's good for marketing as a ton of people would come back to the game and the community would love it.

exactly and it makes sense from a development standpoints, they can do that so they can see how they improved and re-do fortnite, but now with more experience in making the terrain and other stuff. They're already brining back older grass colours, water ripple effects. They just need to re-do fortnite, older graphics mixed with modern ones, more optimized for lower budget pc players and better features to fix past mistakes in how they made the map back in chapter 1.

I think the actual canon might be:- 1. The zero point destroys ch1 island and uses some of it with more matter to make ch2 island 2. It takes the remaining matter and puts it back with some new matter to make ch3 island 3. The IO flips the island to the ch2 side 4. We flip it back to ch3 island

honestly I thought that when the black hole rearranged the island, it ended up taking places like logjam, sleepy sound (as a town), camp cuddle and ripping them out of chapter 2 and replacing them with retail row, pleasant park and salty springs. Lonely lodge got ripped out of the chapter 1 map, creating the ch 3 beach area and Weeping Woods, and junk junction and dusty got ripped apart to form dirty docks. Then, during chapter 2 season 5, the zero point altered the chapter 1 map’s geography drastically, turning it into what we have now. Pressure Plant was erased and became a huge lake, and Tomato town was added back as Coney Crossroads, while the Viking mountain became the mountain where Covert Cavern was.

I hope it slowly does go back to how the old map looked and it would demonstrate your theory that the events on the Island are all out of order. One day development will end on Fortnite BR so it might make sense if all three maps rotate as part of the main story of Fortnite, as it is a loop.

So, I interpreted this theory as: At the end of Chapter 1, the island was rearranged and split in two to form Apollo and Artemis (Chapter 2 island and Chapter 3 island respectively). We were teleported to the other side of the island (Chapter 2). While we were playing in CH2, the remnants of the chapter 1 island (where most of the OG terrain and POIs were left behind) slowly changed and evolved into the chapter 3 island. When the island flipped at the end of Chapter 2, we were sent back to the former chapter 1 island, which had already evolved into the chapter 3 island. Did I get it?

This is probably the best theory I've heard so far. My theory is that the flip side existed during chapter 1 which means that the chapter 2 map already existed, just on the other side. And during the end event, the entire map encluding the flip side part got sucked in, and the zero point had to try and fix everything before people could escape the loop. Which is why on the new map, we ended up with 3 on locations since it probably didn't have enough time to reconstruct them into something new. And when we got fliped a second time, all of the stuff the zero point didn't reconstruct into chapter 2 was there. And you might be asking,"Then why was tilted in chapter 2?" And I'm here to say that it was there because it got rifted in from a past loop. And you also might be asking, "If the the other side if just stuff the zero point didn't reconstruct, then why is the monster from the live event under the snow?" And the answer to that is that it is the weird dinasour thing you could see in the chapter 3 trailer. Even more proof is that during the marvel season, you could get And achievement called thwip referencing Spiderman wich means that spider man was in the loop, but the zero point couldn't rift it onto the normal side so it just put it with the rest of the stuff it didn't use. The dino bois that we will see later in the season are also just unused creature in hibernation since they were meant for the primal season with the rapter bois but the zero point also couldn't rift them in so it just sent them to the flip side.

Makes a lot of sense but I have and Idea in season 5 not only we got Tilted but Durrr burger, Flush and Tomato building. My theory is that they got rifted from the other side which was chapter 1 season 4 or early 5 the they got rifted there and the story continues on the flipside which eventually becomes chapter 3. I think what happened is: After the black hole, most of the stuff from the CH.1 map were coming together to make the Chapter 3 map. However, I.O was using their Gyro system and turned the island down to the water. The rest of the stuff that came together (Like Pleasant, Salty, and Retail) made the Chapter 2 map, which didn't have as much O.G stuff as Chapter 3. This is my theory for Chapters 2 and 3.

It seems that large clumps of matter still managed to remain hence why there’s some old poi’s.. and why the other old poi’s from the chapter 2 map isn’t here either. And also, Season 6 wasn’t us being sent back in time.. the reason it was primal was because of a reality wave, which is explained during the intro. I would say this is a really good theory. Technically this is a theory for both sides however as it was confirmed that the chapter 1 can't return as when the zero point imploded it took the chapter 1 map and rearranged it. Not to mention that during the C2 End event the gyro system was actually on meaning the C3 map was actually the original non-flipped island. Makes you wonder, was there another side for chapter 1? Probably but we never got to experience it. I would guess that all of those new locations on C2 and C3 probably were on the flipside of C1 if there was one. I'm sorry for the long comment. I think the ‘storyline’ explanation is as follows: Fortnite chapter 1 had a flipside like how chapter 2 and chapter 3 were connected, during the end event the island was all mixed up so chapter 2 had some aspects of chapter 1 and some from chapter 1’s flipside. Chapter 3 was a mix of the rest of the chapter 1 map that chapter 2 didn’t have and the rest of chapter 1’s flipside. Basically like a two sided puzzle that got mixed up and got put back together differently.

we didnt flip at the end event, the energy of the chapter 1 map got sucked into the blackhole and it scattered on both sides of the new map, this is why retail row and pleasant park are on the other side of the map then were greasy grove and tilted towers are, time didn't pass by in the moment of downtime between season x and chapter 2 because nothing existed due to the zero point not being there, no zero point = no map, no time, no people, nothing exists without the zero point

My theory: When we got sucked into Loot Lake in Chapter 1s end event, we were brought under the chapter 1 map, which was the chapter 2 map. While we were on chapter 2, the Zero Point was left to rearrange the chapter 1 map and make it completely different. So when the island flipped during the Chapter 2 end event, it revealed Chapter 1 but rearranged. (Chapter 3.)

Right! We are back on the chapter one map, which is how the arm is there. In my theory, some things stayed the same while other things changed because of us going back to the primal age. Chapter 4 might be a whole reset once again, I'm predicting the 7 are just gonna tinker with the zero point once again, chapter 1 style and reset the island and we will have chapter 1 all over again, but it will just be different, maybe better. We might just go through the same map updates etc. but now that epic has more feedback, it might just be way better, the terrain will be built in the newer way but still the same layout. It's slowly being hinted, epic are even bringing back the older style of graphics and features a bit, especially the cartoony water ripples are back, grass isn't as bright again. Etc. The chapter 3 island might also be the far future of the first island cuz the volcano is completely done, robot is gone and there's the seven who made their own base, so they might reset this all over again and we will progress through chapter 1 once again, just differently. From Epic's standpoint, this might also just be a re-do of fortnite, seeing how they improved on updating the game and their choices on what to add and the art style, a lot of people criticized the art style that fortnite was going towards. We might get older graphics that are more optimized mixed with the more modern fortnite features like terrain and tress combined with older more optimized trees and maybe more features in the settings or players with lower budget PCs. They took away building to maybe let some players back in to be interested in fortnite once again and it worked. So this might be a really good decision, nostalgic and fresh at the same time cuz it's basically like an alternate version of the first island's history. I just wanna see the meteor again, we might get a different member of the 7 in the meteor this time instead of visitor, the meteor might land somewhere else, maybe actually destroying tilted. And we might see the rocket launch event again, would be amazing.

What is hope is that the broken planet is the Athena map or chapter 1 map because everyone wants the old map back and epic listens to their fans like “nerf the mechs!” They did that, when did build delay in season x and people didn’t like it the changed it back and in this season people were like “no build should be a permanent mode” they did that so they might and this is a very tiny chance to bring back the old map but like around it like the mountains could be broken or something like that or have loot lake and around there missing from the black hole

Theory: Since It was confirmed the chapter 2 map, was the map created by the chapter one map, that means this entire island was made by the chapter 1 map so chapter 3 is also made by chapter one. Evidence: both chapter 2 and 3 both have chapter 1 poi's. The chapter 1 map was split into 2 islands. OR the chapter one map had 2 side.

Back in season x, we theorized that we traveled back in time resulting in Chapter 2 map. Now this could be a way to figure it out what was like before the chapter 1. Now, if the chapter 3 map is indeed the same one as the chapter 1 map, that means when we are in Chapter 2, the other Island was under the map. The foundation also said something about we are the "loopers". There was a part in the last event when they called us "loopers" instead of people or something like that. We are the "loopers" that are stuck in this reality and when we are free once and for all, it is finished.

So to sum it up: after chapter 1 the origin point sent us to the other side of the island, then it sent us to the tribal age, then back to the original side again but things where different because it had been in the primal age and therefore was built a bit differently. *huh* Also the reason some same locations where on the flipped side was because they had been rifted in through the zero point.

I think that in chapter 1, there was another map or an original version of chapter 2 map. When the end event occurred, we were pulled to the centre of all reality or Inbetween both maps. So when we were spat out on the other side of the map, where both maps were combined yet separated.

Earlier in chapter 2 there were theories that the island was just in the past and all of the events are leading up to chapter one and that’s why when the black hole happened the loop reset and that’s why the OG locations were still there (most of them) so now that there are similarity’s in the map this could indeed be the chapter one map and we might see the OG map coming back soon

I personally believe that the black hole reconstructed the island and that chapter 1 had a flip side we never saw but that was the side we saw remixed in chapter 2 and now we are on the remixed chapter 1 side. I also believe that alot of time has passed and that locations much more closely resembled the chapter 1 locations before the effects of time took its toll. I believe that over time some locations which haven't appeared yet on either side from chapter 1 such as happy hamlet or haunted hills will return as they are simply stuck in the black hole still. I thinknthat the old quarreling sides like shadow, ghost, ice king, fire king, ect. are truly gone and i also think that one of the locations to come back will be the villains lair and rocket

In my opinion, the Chapter 2 map and the Chapter 3 maps are connected, because they are the same dual sided island.
