Screen resolution, window size, desktop/mobile -> use media queries Each and every form field you enter and the order of it can be tracked too The relative version of your browser using @supports And a lot more You do not need JS to track users All you need is that cookies are allowed and that images are allowed

By the way, I took your advice and sang a unique song before and during my shower to test the new SMART Intel Processor FAN/Light switch that was put in, that has no option to turn the rather quiet fan off. I sang about Keds Sneakers; I love them so I asked for them for Christmas; very loudly. I use Brave; which blocks most ads; and pay a small fee for Pandora and my email, so I rarely get ads. However; PINTEREST has ads, whether you want them or not. And guess what ads showed up two days later.... not Keds, but more expensive brands of sneakers and where you can buy them. Five different brands! A couple of them you can throw in the washing machine just like Keds. I was looking at livingrooms to get an idea where to move my couch to make room for my Christmas tree. The SMART fan/light with it's darn LED light is out of here A.S.A.P.! I wish I could say I was shocked, nothing shocks me anymore. There are no coincidences.

honestly, i think they even have more advanced techniques than Browser fingerprinting for identification. if it is known by the public, it is already mainstream... if they really wanted to stir shit up you would not even know it, and it would happen on the most official website on earth. so yeah, the phrase "i know more about you than you do", is a certainty, no matter what the hell your actions are... the question is: how much do they know?!

Do you know Random User Agent? Its a plugin what chages your User Agent randomly. So you dont have a unique fingerprint, but every finve minutes another one. I checked it with panopticklick and it workes pretty well...

Thanks)_ This is an eye opener for me. I understood biometrics when I went to the hospital and they had me raise my right arm and set it down again and they recorded my movement I knew at that point I better not rob a bank because they would know it's me even if I wore a tarp over my body. But this is like tech-biometrics where it's attempting to do the same thing in a way. I use keyscrambler so my biometric keystrokes can NOT identify me and I use the ONLY antivirus software in existence from the beginning (Eset NOD32 - kaspersky is just it's twin brother but they these two are pretty much the same entity. There are NO other antivirus software in the world and there never will be) and of course I use TrustZone VPN and Iron browser BUT none of these things changed my browser finger print. Ouch! It recommended Privacy Badger which I already was using, however, even that did not change the information that could identify my computer enough to identify me. The only thing missing is the SAVING of my finger print profile because if my browser finger print has already been recorded and saved in a profile somewhere, then I can be identified as me. I'm thinking it probably already has somewhere and it wouldn't take much sifting through a list of 10-20 candidates to identify me personally. I guess my only real safety precaution at this point would be to use a completely new laptop/computer. That would change my browser finger print enough to not be identified. Crazy stuff. Thanks.

I just have to ask this....smart meters and cable internet. True...smart meters can tell what, how long, and what’s running in your house some how. And what does your smart meter have to do with your internet cable? Last month they ( I couldn’t refuse) they put in smart meters on our house/ street...but the cable company was out here making changes with the electric company. What did the cable company add with the electric company?? Smart meter privacy says...sells to third party and government agencies. Anyone know this stuff???

They only know its you if you have used your computer to ID yourself and there are ways to fix that with the same computer....VMs are a great start.

The bigger the ratio on panopticlick the more unique your fingerprint. 1:10 is more secure than 1:1000. Less unique=more secure. A good practice is to use your primary browser for regular browsing and then use a secondary such as Tor browser to browse things you are more privacy conscious about. TRY IT YOUR SELF! Fingerprint your primary then fingerprint Tor. Google Chrome will almost always be very unique. Tor being focused on privacy will give a much more secure fingerprint.

Very easy and very likely. It's not the websites themselves that are doing the tracking; it's the ad code, Like button code, embeds from other sites like Twitter, and so on. Each time that code is run on any site, it can create a fingerprint, send it to a central server, and that central server can easily compare fingerprints from all the different sites and then say, "Oh, that's Bob!"

Hate to say it, but programmers need some anonymous way to uniquely identify users. I would be open to a web fingerprint specification where a unique fingerprint was issued 'per domain'. That way, programmers can still tell users apart, but as the fingerprints are unique per domain, the fingerprint can't be tracked.

VPNs can hide your location/IP and help with a few other things, but they don't really anonymize you the way that most people think. Personally, I also assume that if the Men in Black Suits came knocking, they'd give me up in a second no matter what they claim. They are businesses after all, and very few businesses will will dare to risk everything they have built by standing up to "The Man".

He's talking about the most mundane and obvious layer of web security out there. This is nothing compared to the fact the Google tracks your typing habits and can identify you by the way you type. How about the way the Facebook app listens to what you say and when it hears a specific product or movie or musician, you start seeing ads for them. Creepy. There are so many other things Scottie could have talked about, but he chooses the thing that matters the least, at least at the present time. I believe that over time more nefarious tech is going to be ushered into this layer in a more conscious and obvious way. There are all kinds of shady things going on with technology that is not publicly confessed by government agencies and corporations. Microsoft backdoors. Intel backdoors (yeah, you Mac users aren't immune). If you think it isn't possible for hackers to access just about any part of your computer or device, you are sorely ignorant. If someone really wants to get to you, they can with time and persistence, if not sheer brute force through back doors. What can anyone do about it? Honestly, stop using the technology, but who is going to do that? At some point you will have to make a choice though. Experts are pushing tech into our bodies with the scare tactic that if we don't merge with technology, we will be obsolete at the AI singularity. Are you going to jump on the NWO's transhumanist train? I won't. It eventually will mean that you won't be able to participate in the system. Exile by exclusion. And if you aren't socially viable then what are you? A useless eater.
