This plan is flexible and some thought has been put into it. Wouldn’t a bucket strategy approach work just as well if not better? If you have 3-5 years of cash saved based off past years’ expenses then when there a couple of down years in the market a person is able to weather the storm without compromising their standard of living. Then when the markets rebound and they will you can pull money from those accounts to restore your cash reserve. However, like most things in life there is usually more than one way to resolve a “problem/challenge” and end up with the same result. I’m glad I came across your channel. From the videos I’ve watched you approach each topic in your videos in a pragmatic sensible way and then take time to explain things in way that the “Average Joe” can understand. I like that.👌 Cheers from North Pole, Alaska!

I hear it's beautiful up there! Haven't had the opportunity to visit AK myself but it's on the list! To your question: you are correct, the bucket strategy is another approach that's a bit simpler when looking to create a retirement income system. The challenge we've seen is that retirees often overweight the more conservative buckets, and then run into issues 15-20+ years into the future by not having earned enough growth along the way. Sometimes we find feds have a harder time sticking with a regimented bucketed approach compared to assessing more regularly with a dynamic income system. To your point, sometimes a combination of systems may work better for a particular family. Thanks for your support and for tuning in! -TG

Fantasy world $10,000 a month cash flow in retirement after taxes? The average household income in the United States being about 60 to 70,000 that is before taxes. What kind of fantasy is this or is that just for easy calculation?

Another threat for those of us nearing retirement could be the potential schedule F conversions. Can you do a video for people that might be forced to retire earlier than they wanted?
