NL the key to lilith is two fold: 1) Keep the Box of friends 2) SHOPS, Shops are disproportionately advantageous as lilith, it incentivises using resources to get money and also getting arcades. Shops have a couple keys to success; space bar item enhancers in particular. You have 9 volt, battery, bff, car battery, charged baby, habit, jumper cables, sack boy, and (kinda) sharp plug . This is 23% of the active shop items being A+ for lilith. This is on top of all the other good shop items like champion belt, more options, etc. As Lilith GO TO SHOPS. I hope and pray you read this I made an excel spreadsheet for this shit.

You already know the answer to this question because it was discussed ad nauseam when Lilith came out, but what she "has" is very high snowballing potential. Battery items and familiars are notably better on her than on anyone else, and Boss Rush is very very easy.

Just a note NL, you still get credit for a chest kill if you die after on the run, as long as you cleared blue baby's room. You can die in the void or the rest of the chest without any penalty.

Lilith is the first character I completed everything on hard with. Your problem is that you're really downplaying the Box of Friends. If you focus on getting battery based items and have a familiar or two then you are pretty set, especially if they're good familiars! Sack head is great with it too. Put it this way, if you could have double shot, triple shot or even quad shot every four rooms or sometimes less, you'd be all over it. I think you've got in your head that because it isn't usually a great item then you need to get rid of it and you aren't taking advantage of it. It would be like getting rid of the nickle on the Keeper. Focus more on your active. :-)

Oh, and don't forget using IV bag or blood banks to get Cambion Conception. You could get an extra Lil 'Brim or familiar equally as good. I remember having several different familiars all shooting four times thanks to Charged Baby dropping a battery and Car Battery! Remember, Daddy's Love stacks aswell. ;-)

I find myself watching a number of NL's Isaac videos, just chilling, but then I get this terrible thought in my head that I can go a play some Isaac like NL but my terrible skill gets me killed on about floor 3 or 4. Partially rage inducing but then I just go back to watching more Isaac videos and forget all about it eventually going back to try and play some more. The cycle continues.

Your lack of abilities with Lilith is purely psychological. You think she's bad, so you play badly with her. You fall into the same category as so many other BoI KZbinrs, whom, after playing BoI for so many years, and are so accustomed to their shots firing straight in front of them, are unable to play reliably with a character that they have to adjust there shot positions with. Also, to call Box of Friends a bad item is pure ignorance, and proves a reluctance to learn the nuances of the character. With any other character, Box of Friends is maybe a 4 or 5, but with Lilith, it's a 10/10, as she relys on her familiars to deal damage. As such, once every four rooms, she is able to deal double damage (or more, if you can get a 48 Hour Energy pill). To get rid of Box of Friends for Jar of Flies while playing as Lilith was pure ignorance, and I was hoping for a loss from that moment until the end of the video. All in all, Lilith is not a bad character, or even a difficult character, to play as. She's actually a little op, honestly. If you can learn how to use her, she can actually win runs with little to no help from the game. Then again, if you haven't learned how to use her properly at some point in the last 1000+ videos, one can only assume that you never will.

Just adding to the hodgepodge of basic lillith tips. Don't skip any shops, it's dumb; pretty much every battery related item in there has an explicit benefit due to box. Keep box of friends, especially in a scenario where the spacebar you're trading for is a set amount of damage. Box of friends has no cap to the damage it can add to a room, ShoopdeWoop, Krampus' head and Jar do (in this case, you traded doubled output for a room for potentially 20 flies after maybe 3 or 4 rooms that can do 40 (30?) extra shots worth of damage upfront). Burst damage is nice to have, but at the point you traded box, you'd be dealing 16 damage per shot plus the extra 7 from Loki (probably more like 2 per shot since his tear rate's shit). You got to see it for one boss, but Lillith's sustained dps on this run is fucking nutty.

I don't have the same problem with Lilith that NL has, but she is so far from being anywhere near my favorite character. She's absolutely wonderful in Greed mode; in fact, she's highly enjoyable there. In regular runs, however, she's highly irritating early on, and she's only very enjoyable late game in a run that would already be strong on any other character. To me, she's just not fantastic, and I can comprehend why NL doesn't love her. I had no problems getting her post-it a year ago, but since then, no thank you. Do I despise her as much as keeper? No way. Isaac, Judas, Azazel, Eve, Samson, these are my ideal rolls.
