Interesting thing about plane crashes: the common perception is that they're rare but the ones that do happen are nearly always horrifically fatal. That's actually not true at all. The second part, that is. The first part about plane crashes being rare is true but they're a lot more survivable than you might think. From 1983 to 2000, there have been 568 plane crashes in the U.S. with a total of 53,487 people on board. Of those, 51,207 survived. That's about a 96% survival rate.

I don't know about you, but I'd consider anything other than a safe landing on a runway to be a crash. I mean, a fender bender is still considered a car crash, isn't it? Still, even ones that seem catastrophic can be much more survivable than you think. Case in point: in July 2013, an Asiana Airlines 777 struck a seawall just short of the runway while landing. The tail section broke apart, both engines and the landing gear broke off as well. The plane skidded along the ground and caught fire. All 16 crew members lived and only 3 of the 291 passengers died. In fact, there hasn't been a crash in the US with more than a dozen or so fatalities since 2009.

Dewaiz Well yeah, there are exceptions. My point is that plane crashes are by no means a guaranteed death sentence for everyone on board. I will say that crashes involving tiny planes like Cessnas and Learjets tend to have a higher fatality rate than crashes involving large commercial jets. They're not as resilient, have less safety equipment, and the pilots tend to be less experienced.

You're usually dead, your bike is probably totally, and you didn't do all that much damage to the other car, all things considered. Meaning, no massive medical bills, and a relatively minor bodywork pay out for the other driver.

zCrabOG He didn't get lucky. As much as I'd love to attribute NL's success in BoI to luck, it's not the case. He's capable of taking no damage for a long time which usually leads to his success.

I feel NL is overly protective of his cats. Cats' bones and ligaments are actually fairly strong and versatile (that's why they're so stretchy), most cats can survive quite a fall and be completely fine (my own cat has fallen/jumped from the tops of curtain rails, doors and the tops of sheds and has been fine). But it's kinda cute how much he worries XD

So the missed 5 cent Balls off Steel may have helped get a Deal with the Devil, but I also know the missed 3 cent Spirit Heart in the shop would have definitely guaranteed the Eternal Heart stayed alive. Also why not just use the Credit Card on the shop and get whatever was in there for free if you were just going to leave it on the floor anyway? Also classic NL: Expounds the virtues of Orbitals "I gained a bigger appreciation of orbitals on these challenge runs..." and then BFF appears: "It makes my orbitals bigger, who gives a shit..." Well it means bigger orbitals block more shots ding dong!

I agree, I love Broken Watch. I buy it every time I have the opportunity. It's helped out in so many rooms and boss fights. It's totally worth the occasional speed buff it sometimes gives enemies.

I don't understand why people look over item rooms if they don't like the item It's ridiculous. It's a free item. Sure, it makes sense if it's an active item that you don't like as much as the one you do have. But, I'm not gonna look over, say, Chocolate Milk, or Tiny Planet, or Soy Milk. Because I'll take what the game gives me and play with it. Personally, I think that's what makes the game interesting. Instead of overlooking everything and getting some group of items since they're OP.

Keep playing the game they way you want, some people have their own personal preferences and will not pick up items they don't like or want! The way you can tailor your run to fit you is what makes it fun and interesting for me, at the start I picked up all the items to experience how they work in rebirth, how the new items work and so on, but now I just pick up the items I like and leave the ones I dislike! But it's all personal preference really, if the items you get don't fit with your style you just leave them and/or reroll them, simple, clean, flawless and down right perfect!

iv had some awesome tiny planey runs and as for choco milk i didn't like it in vanilla but it beast now i seem to get monstro's lung with it aswell every time and it crazy strong and soy milk has screwed so many runs for me ill probs not going to take it any more , it's just im a sucker for rapid fire tear runs

It's because a lot of items have a downside like soy milk has a massive damage downgrade which might not suit that particular persons playstyle, only some items are just a plain upgrade that everyone takes like sad onion or mini mush.

Plane crashes are in fact, less common than car crashes, they just tend to cause a LOT more collateral damage and get more media attention due to the body count.

True but you gotta downscale the frequency of car crashes vs plane crashes because there are far more cars driving at any given moment than planes flying. It's like comparing how much sand there is in a beach vs how much chunks of gravel there are in a gravel road.

A Jera rune combo: hematemesis pill in an angel room for eternal hearts, use jera rune to double them! Also, I think the jera rune doubles all unopened chests in a room as well.

Jera is great for carrying to the Chest if you have enough keys. Wonderful things happen in the Chest if you can grab those eight chests in the first room.

That's a cool combo Ryan, blank card + Jera rune, I didn't know they were counted s cards! Now I'm wondering if I can get a ton of spirit/angel hearts but leaving them in a room and re-rolling them repeatedly, if that works, I can imagine turning two into, say, sixteen for example. Or maybe a second secret room full of hearts with temperance card lying somewhere, could drop it in the room and duplicate the heck out of those for a ton of health. So many possibilities, neat.

Jera+blank and a room with a chest of some kind and battery pick, up is stupid op. and using 48 hour energy card can infinitely dupe any room(because it drops battery) You potentially can get infinite item room, if you dupe golden chest + key + battery in the same room.

I believe Jera duplicates shop pickups, so if you get it and blank card, and find a shop with a spirit heart and battery, you can get to the hp cap.

Shoop Da Whoop can be good. I think it scales with tear damage. Think of it as a piercing extreme-long range normal tear shot.

I know this is incredibly late and he might know this by now, but Jera can duplicate chests. For example, taking blank card and Jera into the chest to get 16 golden item chests in the beginning instead of the usual 4. Also, you could avoid opening the chests and get more charges of blank card first so that you could probably get 32, 64, maybe even 124 chests lol
