On the topic of tattoos (and NL's reasoning for not feeling a need to get any); the concept that your tattoos need to have some sort of deep, personal "meaning" is a VERY new concept that developed about 20ish years ago when tattoos went mainstream, and was reinforced by tattoo reality shows. I got into tattoos because I liked the styled of American traditional tattoos and went down a rabbit hole on the history of it. The motifs do have some sort of symbolism, but they aren't like many of the tattoos you see today, where someone tries to fit 5 different ideas that are supposed to each represent some personal meaning into a palm-sized tattoo. The point of tattoos, imo, is that you personally like the way they look/ the art style itself. Nobody is going to look at a bunch of Roman numerals on your wrist and think "damn, that looks sick!" Not knocking it per se, but it is body ART, meaning that the best way to utilize the medium is to choose designs/ motifs that have an aesthetic appeal. In contrast to the Roman numerals, for example, a panther head or Pharaoh's Horses will ALWAYS look good. I hope this isn't coming off as elitist, I'm just trying to add context to the medium of tattooing for those not familiar with it; there are many styles of tattooing that have stood the test of time for a reason, and I think it's important that people understand that tattooing is an art medium just like acrylic painting or charcoal; certain things lend themselves to certain mediums, and if you try to go against what that medium is capable of (such as trying to do a "watercolor style" tattoo) you will more often than not get lackluster results. Tattooing is an especially finicky and limited medium due to how ink interacts with skin. On watercolor style specifically, those tattoos have to be touched up every 5ish years or else they end up looking like a really bad bruise or just a blob due to how ink disperses in the skin. In essence, my advice is; find a style of tattooing you like and run with that. I personally like American traditional, but other tried and true styles are black and gray, realism, Japanese traditional, and woodcut, among many others. The odds of finding a style and regretting getting a tattoo in that style are SO slim; when was the last time you genuinely enjoyed a piece of art/ a style of art, then years later thought "ehh, turns out I don't think that expressionism/ cubism/ surrealism looks pretty anymore." If you like a style of art now, you will like it in 20 years. The only caveat to that is if you are drawn to a "trendy" style, that gets a bit more iffy in the tattooing world, but the tried and true styles never go out of fashion and are always appreciated and respected.

as someone who is tattooed getting a sleeve is actually Not faster than just working out because you need to do multiple sessions+aftercare and if you're wanting to get colours on it too to make it really stand out that's even more time spent. but also you should totally get a tattoo sleeve
