I love these videos because you are super concise. You don't waste time re-explaining things and you assume that we know our stuff. I can always pause or rewind if I need more time but it is hard to fast forward a video without accidentally missing the important stuff.

Patrick, Just wanted to say thanks for your amazing videos. I know how much work goes into creating and recording high quality content online. Your effort does not go unnoticed. As I build my own video library for my geometry and pre-calc students, I often send them to your channel to supplement what I am doing in class and on my own channel. Thanks a bunch and keep up the good work. Greg Stanislow Philadelphia, PA

you could either find: the probability of getting exactly 4 + the probability of getting exactly 5 + the probability..... etc.. or you can use P(A) + P(Not A) = 1 so you could instead find: 1 - P( getting 3 or less correct) which would be easier to compute

Hey Melissa, I'm not Patrick, but I'll try to help. Factorial notation is a simpler method of writing the product of all whole numbers from the chosen number to 1. So, 10!= 10x9x8x...x2x1 and 4!=4x3x2x1. The exclamation mark is the factorial notation, so there is no need to write it when you expand into the form 4x3x2x1, for example. Also, notice that 10!/4! = 10x9x8x7x6x5x4!/4! = 10x9x8x7x6x5 = 151200. Hope this helps, feel free to ask any questions.

before using binomial distribution u must ensure your sample are random and independent all element must have equal chance of being chosen for an example cards drawing is not independent because each time you draw u have less cards

Hey, patrick man thanks so much for the videos. Hey I have exams in like 3 weeks and i im really confused with probs, could you please do a video or just write explaining to me how to decide on which type of probability to choose when given a problem, e.g. binomial or normal. I really get confused between them and i need someone to compare several problems and tell me why we chose which one and why not the other. Can you please do that for me man? Thanks. Love your videos btw, theyre awesomne!
@JonathanKizuka11 жыл бұрын
for those who don't know what factorials are, and don't feel like watching the video, the (!) basically means you multiply the number infront of it by every previous number, so for example: 5!=5x4x3x2x1
@Mmmm1357915 жыл бұрын
the q in the general formula should be p complement because there can be more than 2 possible out come .like in the dice the probability of getting a 3 two times in tossing the dice four times would be =4c2 (1/6)^2 *(5/6)^2

@Nickuncle11 жыл бұрын
Just write out the factorials. If you have trouble simplifying you should just write it all out and you'll see what cancels. If that's your problem, that is. E.g. 3!/4! = 1/4 because 3*2*1/4*3*2*1 (the 3 2 and 1 cancel and you're left with 4!)
