We are most definitely unique. Being apes to sending space craft to orbit Jupiter and its Galilean satellites. I think we are definitely set apart in some way or another from every other life form that has been on this planet.

What we do sets us apart, what we are makes us a part of everything. We may see ourselves as greater and for good reason, MULTIPLE good reasons. But in reality we come from and will return to dust, we have no greater value than other life forms in the grand scheme of things. A very philosophical and intriguing topic indeed.
