I LOVE to see more black reactors watching this show! PLEASE continue and be ready to watch one of, if not the best, tv show out right now. This show is a masterclass in writing and acting. Season 3 was greenlit and is in progress so you're in for a good ride if you continue. If you don't have moderators, I'd recommend being cautious with the comment section because the Interview with the Vampire fans are very...passionate and there's a lot of knowledge and facts and angles that are known from both the movie and the original book series (which came out in 70s so there's been AMPLE time for people to become attached) and some fans don't realize that what they're commenting can be considering spoilery or as attempts to lead your opinions and perceptions of the show. But we are also very passionate about the story in general and this is a show that will make you question and theorize and have Thoughts on everything so don't be surprised if you see like paragraphs of discussion here lol But enjoy yourself and as Louis de Pointe du Lac said, "Let the tale seduce you"! Can't wait for more!

They did have body doubles on set but the actors learned the dance well enough that they were able to do it themselves and they didn't need to use the body doubles at all... The witch reference is about the "Mayfair Witches," another book by Anne Rice. The books are interconnected. The Pointe du Lac family is Roman Catholic, but Grace is marrying a non-Catholic.

Interview with the Vampire is the first book in a series called the Vampire Chronicles. Written by Anne Rice starting in the 1970's. There are like 15 novels in all. But her writing captivated a generation. The intimacy of her characters is off the charts. Louis and Lestat were just the beginning. And the best also. You are in for a wild ride. Anne does not hold back. She taps into the Human psyche like no other. And all this with two dead men. Thank you for your reaction. It was very enjoyable.

@@birdcallsreaction Obviously is your choice. But you seemed to have started with the TV show. So why now switch gears. If you see the show first, the book will just fill in some details. The plot is the same. In fact, the TV show was updated to express more of what Anne Rice had in mind. 50 years ago, she was more restrained in how she could tell her story. Today it is easier to make the themes of her work more upfront.

20:08 yeah, the show doesn't necessarily go super deep into this but when a vampire bites a human something called the blood swoon happens... It feels really really good, basically. which is probably why Louis didn't find the floating thing weird because he probably felt like he was floating prior to them actually starting to float. lmao. It also feels good when a vampire bites another vampire. Within Anne Rice's vampire lore biting and the exchange of blood is essentially sex... It's a VERY intimate experience that can feel very pleasurable or painful, if it's non-consensual, just like physical sex... Anne Rice's vampires technically can't have physical sex but later on in the book series she retcons this detail so the show just didn't include it so that the retcon doesn't need to happen. So, within the show, vampires can have physical sex but biting and the exchange of blood is still very much a metaphor for physical sex, as well.

Also Rice wrote this book in 1973, it was published in 1976 so she had to hold back on the physical depictions between two male characters (albeit they were not humans). That said, the homoeroticism is definitely there and is very lightly touched upon in the movie with Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt.

Yeah its probably that long. They had been hanging out for a while and then after that 3some, Louis stopped hanging around him... Then after the funeral the madam said she had been dead two weeks. So it was probably about 2 months... Maybe 3.

12:14 Sam Reid does have a VERY nice voice. It's very deep and nice to listen to... And yeah he does his best with the French accent in this show... Honestly ANY attempt at a French accent is better than what we got in the movie adaptation... When Tom Cruise was playing Lestat he didn't even attempt to do French accent whatsoever... And Lestat very much does have a French accent so... Even a kind of mid imperfect French accent is very honestly better than the nothing we had before. 🤷‍♀️
