Would open the closet to the kitchen side... More functional... Could be storage, closet, pantry, etc... Easier access from kitchen... Or... Split it... 10 inches or 12 inches to the bathroom side for clothes or toiletries, TP storage etc, and... the remainder of the closet space facing to the kitchen side as a pantry

Would add 4 inches to stair width... And take 18 inches from the bedroom and add it to living room
