Very good! Well said! When I first saw the part where Aaron tears up was the reason I wanted to have Burt see Aaron again, so glad I did. He was such a good friend to me. I'll always love and miss him.❤

The Tropical Cleaners were really the heart and soul of the RAE. Their musical abilities really made the rockafire stand out above every other animatronic group in my opinion.
@BeachKai11 ай бұрын
Couldn’t agree more. They’re more than just the voices of the characters, they are musicians with talent unmatched by others.

I can’t believe he’s gone, that was one of the saddest birthday melodies I’ve ever and it was made by the one and only Burt “Sal” Wilson. R.I.P. hope he’s having a good time in the afterlife

It was a sad sad day when Sal passed away… I was in complete shock the whole day… seeing Aaron starting to cry even though he hadn’t passed away yet in that video, it made me tear up… 😢

I'm wondering if it was just because he missed hanging out with him, or maybe some other factors. It's sad he's gone now though...

Burt "Sal" Wilson was an amazing man and made a lot of memories. I think that part of his passion is still living through the preservation of the RAE and the respective showtapes.

Sal was crucial to the RAE. Not only did he voice Fatz, but he also wrote showtapes and songs. And so much Fatz's personality came from Sal.

This song always gets me in the feels man. It starts out as a corny birthday song for parents to hear in the background as they watch their children devour pizza and cake. But after the first “yeah yeah yeah” it shifts to a beautiful, melancholic melody as the animatronic characters go silent and the acoustic guitar softly lays down each note. Suddenly it hits you. You’ll never be able to live this moment again. To your child, it’s just another birthday, and you can always come back to Showbiz for their next one, and they can even play this song again. But next year, it’ll be different; one day they might even say that Showbiz is for babies, and it’ll only have been a few years since this very moment. All of these thoughts hit you at once, and a lump forms in your throat. Then, just as your little baby’s about to ask if you’re okay, the characters spring back to life, singing that chorus and reminding you that it’s just a silly birthday song, sung by silly characters, at a silly restaurant. This had to have happened to at least one parent in the 80s.

A couple things I'd like to mention: 1. Billy Bob is the only character that could've sung that song. Anything else would've been inappropriate, and I don't think the song would be as cherished as it is if any other character sang it, even if the lyrics were exactly the same. 2. Sal's Birthday was not the only great birthday song that showcased Burt's talent. The beginning of the Happy Birthday Medley with Fatz singing Sixteen Candles is also not an ordinary "Chuck E Cheese" corny birthday song. It has power and emotion, and is beautiful. It is one of my favorite Fatz songs, only beaten by Sixteen Tons and Music Goes Round and Round.

While I personally have mixed feelings on The Rock-A-Fire Explosion [a lot of bad memories of the part of the fandom that constantly trashes CEC no matter what], I do love the Sal's Birthday song. And in my honest opinion, it's not just the birthday songs at modern CEC that feel soulless, it's literally everything about modern CEC, from destroying the animatronics, to no longer appealing to EVERYONE, to the cheaper looking decor, and the bland designs of 2.0. Although I'm a 2000s kid, I personally think that the Pizza Time Theatre era of Chuck E Cheese was the best, there was so much more fun. From Chuck's snarkier personality [arguably making him more believable than the other Chuck incarnations], to the fun guest stars, to the cabaret acts, and even the birthday songs were better than modern CEC. It's A Special Day, despite being written for CEC's 5th birthday, still holds up as a classic, maybe not as much as Sal's Birthday, but pretty darn close.
