The Birthplace of PIZZA MARGHERITA in Naples

If you’re looking for a piece of history to go with your Pizza Margherita, I’m about to serve it up! Invented in 1889 the Margherita pizza was named after the Queen when she tasted the creation made by a pizzaiolo who’s pizzeria in Naples still exists to this day! Still family-owned Brandi pizzeria is the birthplace of the humble Margherita which has now become an icon of Italy and arguably one of the most eaten pizzas in the world!

My favorite pizza topping is just cheese. Once in a while, I might get another topping but it's rare. I do not like the fad of Buffalo chicken, Steak and Cheese, BBQ chicken, BBQ pulled pork or Ranch with chicken and bacon. Plain cheese wins it for me.

I've been seeing all kinds of strange pizza combinations in my local supermarket lately (netherlands). With tortilla/nacho chips on top, with bbq ribs, with veggie burger, vegan margherita, creamed spinach, vegan bbq chicken, spinach and pumpkin seeds, beet/spinach/cauliflower base, pizza miami (ground meat + cheese), pumpkin lovers pizza made with spelt flour base.

In rome they make completely different Pizzas, they're thinner... you should search for a Neapolitan pizzeria
