As another one of your Saxophone Artistry students, a Bis key technique which you have been teaching us, and this is what you did in the example you played, was to slide your index finger from the B key onto the Bis key when going from B natural to Bb. This was strange for me when I first tried it, but now it's becoming a natural movement which I use all the time. Thank you!!

Still a first year newbie. (baritone, King of the sound pyramid) I find the BIS key a great tool in a lot of cases, but for scales I prefer side B.

In my opinion the Bis key is always preferred for flat scales as you'll be smoother, faster and clearer. Adding the side Bb requires more coordination and it's easier to sound messy. Remember that both Bis and Side are equally important when playing music.
