He was not a bad man. He loved God and Jesus very, very much. He was not bad at all, other than his sexual desires. And, in that day and age, it actually wasn't that horrible a thing, believe it or not. Rasputin ACTUALLY healed the Tsarevich Alexei. He knew to not give the hemophiliac aspirin, unlike his other doctors. And he calmed the boy and his mother, which in turn, lessened the symptoms of the disease

That's the story. I think it is exaggerated though. The man who killed his son with the potassium-cyanide laced pixie stick also ingested a lot of sugar the night of his death too(Halloween) but the results were very different. I think the story was made up to portray Rasputin as a more sinister character. It's amazing propaganda. I prefer the most likely made-up story.

Very well presented, but I have to say, slightly disappointed on some details. A large part of Rasputins infamy is from a lot of debated details, his crime riddled youth, alcoholism, and multiple affairs are still highly debated today, and there probably more evidence pointing towards it being propaganda from the Communist Party after the October revolution, and gossip from the time. Its difficult for a western audience to look at Russia at the turn of the century, so many players, so many of which were not inherently good or bad, and even rasputins life does unfortunately require a very indepth investigation. I appreciate what the video tried to do, but disappointed it didn't separate rumour from fact (which is especially difficult with Rasputin, as the line blurs so easily)

from the mystery book of 'mysteries of the unexplained', rasputin's mesmerizing eyes, a key to his power, were once described by prince felix yusupov, who later claimed to be the monk's murderer: 'his eyes shone before me like a kind of phosphorescent light. from rasputin's eyes came two rays that flowed into each other and merged into a glowing circle, i was gradually fallin' into the power of this mysterious man'.

Remember that SNES fighting game, World Heroes 2, where Rasputin was a playable character? Remember his super move where he basically pulls his opponent into a flower bed and does ungodly things to them? Makes more sense now.

Very good. In Andrew Cook's book, it is mentioned that he was shot 3 times and that the bullets were of different calibres. The two shots to the body were fired at close range and the shot to the forehead was even closer and while he was lying down. The bullet wound to the forehead is also a lot larger and suggests it was a .455 bullet like the ones used in Webley revolvers which were issued to the British soldiers. In fact there is a good chance that the British were involved in the murder. Several officers were stationed in Petrograd and Oswald Rayner who was part of the secret service, in his later years confessed to being in the palace on the night of the murder. A message was also sent back to Britain stating along the lines that "Dark forces" had been taken care of. Dark forces being a codeword for Rasputin. The reason for the British involvement could well be that they feared Russia who were allies in the war might seek a seperate peace with Germany which would be devastating for Britain as Germany would no longer have to fight a war on both fronts (East and West) and could instead send all their soldiers west. It is not conclusive proof, but what is true is that Oswald Rayner and others were in Petrograd at the time, messages were sent to Britain, Rayner did confess to playing a role or at least being there and the bullet wound matches that of a Webley which was a British issue firearm. It's also strange that gunshots were heard at 2:30 a.m, the police visited the palace and were told of the murder, then at around 6 in the morning more gunshots were heard in the courtyard. 3 and a half hours is a long time to survive a shot to the liver which should have killed him in 20 minutes.
