The big three, SHMC, Amorica, Three Snakes, i can still play them on a loop and it never gets old. Had they not imploded towards the end of the 90’s, they would be in the same conversation as the Dead as far as their influence on the genre. Not that they didn’t continue to create great music after the nineties, however the reckless egotism and selfishness of the brothers Robinson drove all the goodness right into the ground, a daggone shame. They became a nostalgia act in all the wrong ways, but the legacy of Weird Ed and Ford and Gorman will live on on my summertime patio for years to come

I was SHOCKED to see Twice As Hard didn't even make it onto one of their 2 disc best of sets... it made one but not the other, I believe Croweology. That song is straight up Led Zeppelin, and I feel like of their songs it got top 5 radio play too. If it ain't #1b on my list tied with Remedy then it's a close second.

I feel like that was part of Oasis' appeal as well, felt like they got huge right after Kurt died. Granted part of it was a throwback 60s invasion vibe for some I reckon, but they even admitted, one of em saw where Nirvana had a song called I Hate Myself And Want To Die and thought bloody hell... and there they were singing songs like Rock n Roll Star about walking on a sunny day, and their first big song being called Live Forever, quite the polar opposite that, heh.

Side note on that too, not only is it great writing and performances but the mix and mastering are really solid too. Lot of extra parts besides just guitars/bass/drums/vocals, got piano in there, got the ladies singing, got some bongos and stuff, lot of tracks. You can hear every person and every part clearly and individually but it still all sounds great together. Sounds good quiet, sounds good loud, sounds good played back on just about anything. This! Same here... old school Metalhead who was raised on 60s and 70s Hard Rock. The Black Crowes always spoke to me because even though their heyday was in the early 90s when I was getting into my 20s, they were so in the same vein of what I grew up listening to (Rolling Stones, Allman Bros, Led Zep, etc.) that they were instantly embraced. They are a great band regardless of what most think. They’re criminally under appreciated. 🤘🏼

I have gone back AGAIN AND AGAIN to the Black Crows! They are absolutely a great bluesy rock band 🎸 with great vocals... and, yes, I’m also a huge 70s rock fan. That is the music I’m drawn to as I get older! Lol 🤟🏼🎶🎸

Someone help me. Just checked a video on YT for this song and same problem. I KNOW when I heard this years ago there's a part in a chorus where he sings the word remedy several times in a row "I want a remedy remedy remedy remedy remedy" (not sure how many times but a several) and I cannot find a version with that (the only one I thought existed) WTF??

Man, The Black Crowes were the shit in the 90s. We all were rocking that hard! It didn't matter if you were into metal, R&B, blues, straight rock...whatever. When they came along, there was nothing else like it out there at the time.

"Seeing Things" is a bit of a deep cut, but it's A GREAT song. Really, everything off of the 1991 "Shake Your Money Maker" album is great. It's one of those albums without a bad song. Every one a banger.

My brother inlaw is a bass player and he has played in a cover band for years and they do all things Black Crowes. Their singer sounds spot on. Love when they do their mini tour through Houston here and there. Wish they actually took it on the road, but all are in their 40s-/50s with other jobs, family and other bands.

This song is good, but phenominal live! Chris Robinson and company put on a GREAT show. You'd recognize Hard To Handle, their biggest hit, but She Talks To Angels is the one. Twice As Hard, Conspiracy, Wiser Time all worth checking out.

Glad you enjoyed the song, and this album is good, but check out their debut album, "Shake Your Money Maker" which includes hits I am sure you have heard previously, but didn't know it was the Black Crowes...Hard To Handle, She Talks to Angels, Twice as Hard, Jealous Again. This was more straight forward rock and not quite as much southern/bluesy as The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion. I actually think "Thorn In My Pride" is better than Remedy. Check it out...
